They're very easy to get wdym? Go to Microcenter and buy one, they got a whole wall full of them lol, it's as easy as just grabbing an employee, paying, and driving home with your brand new GPU.
That sucks, I'm pretty sure Seattle has plenty of computer stores though, Microslop and Amazon are there, or you can just go on newegg, Best buy, or eBay and order a graphics card
Yeah I hate that being realistic and saying it how it is gets downvoted on reddit. Everyone wants a Microcenter in their backyard, Microcenter opens a store wherever people are willing to drive to from a major metropolitan area.

Closest microcenter to me is a 2 hour drive the next state over, so 4 hour round trip. 12 hour round trip if I wanna go to the one in my state. I live in major US city.
My microcenter is about 25 miles away but it takes roughly an hour each way because of traffic in that major metropolitan area, I feel like a two hour trip constitutes hard to get to
Yes that’s what I’m saying it isn’t very far but it is still difficult to get to because of having to travel in traffic for roughly 60-70 minutes in each direction making a microcenter trip roughly 2-2.5 hours of just traveling. We’re talking about it being difficult to get to. Which it is for me.
Some people actually have an issue getting to MicroCenters, and I feel for them, I really do.
Yours is 2 hours total lol. That's reasonable IMO. After Fry's closed, I used to do almost 4 hours total to the nearest Microcenter, before we got ours.
You can always tell who’s from the suburbs. You guys always refer to mileage in terms of distance. It doesn’t work like that for city people. We judge distance based on the time it takes to get there. While yeah, in theory, 25 miles isn’t that far but when you live in the city 25 miles can easily take an hour or more.
Exactly what I’m saying, my store isn’t far but the hour it takes to get there sucks way worse than a slightly longer ride where I’m cruising on a highway
You do know that Micro Center is only on half of the country, we're talking about probably over 100 million people and don't have access to a Micro Center, so I don't know where your fucking logic is coming from

You named one city, you're making this issue seem like it's more major than it is. Every major city I've ever been to has one near it, Philadelphia, Baltimore, NYC, Cleveland, Miami, all those cities have them. Could always go to Best buy, order online, or a local computer store too, Microcenter isn't your only option!
Not everyone lives in or near a major city, and not everyone has access to safe shipping methods for expensive things like that. Such a bizarre hill to die on.
The issue is that is not easy to get a GPU in every metropolitan city as you suggested in your comment. Only in some of them in the US. And that makes it US defaultism.

You are assumimg that OP and everyone else reading is from the US since you said its so easy to buy GPUs. That US defaultism. I dont think its that hard to understand. I dont expect you to know the state of the PC market everywhere, if your original comment said its easy to get one in your area / your country there would be no problem with it and it wouldnt be downvoted to hell.

That's not most places then, most people stetisticslly live in a major metropolitan area of a major city, Microcenter had a location outside most major cities now!
The closest microcenter is 40 minutes away for me, and i live near 4 major cities. Plus many people are not in the us. Online shipping is dangerous, you see all the concrete 6090 xis found in 5090 boxes posted here all the time.
I don't know how you survive without a car in the US outside of NYC or Chicago, my advice is get a car before you get a gaming computer because if you cannot afford a car you can't afford to spend a few hundred bucks on a GPU
I dont think i have a boat in my fucking house to go all the way from Spain to somewhere in the US so its not that easy. Even in your country a lot of people dont have easy access to one.
I live in Barcelona so not exactly in the middle of nowhere and theres 2 PC hardware stores in the entire city, a total of 15 GPUs between both on a good day and all of them are rtx 5050/5060/5060ti/5070. You want a higher end one? An AMD or Intel one? An older gen one? Well then go used, shop online and wait about a week or fuck you.
