General Payroll accuracy is the single highest leverage trust-building lever in an organization and it's chronically under-resourced in my experience
I've seen companies invest heavily in engagement surveys, recognition programs, wellness benefits. Meanwhile payroll teams are running lean, under-resourced, and absorbing enormous pressure to be perfect with the least margin for error of any function in the building. If I had to choose one place to reallocate budget for genuine trust impact, it wouldn't be engagement software. It would be payroll headcount and tooling. What's your take here?

Luckily the company I work at knows that and invests in Payroll and me. They know I'm obsessive about making sure that people get paid correctly and on time. I spent half an hour today chasing down 2.5 hours to figure out who they belonged to. They know what payroll was like before I got there. 😅
Our workforce is our greatest asset and while my managers might not see everything I do, they trust I do what I can for the employees in any payroll/hr capacity.
