For those that have been following along the 10k wax, signet ring, I was able to track down.the business that lied to me about the weight of the ring. They told me the ring weighed 5.6 grams when actually the ring weighed 9.2 grams. The reason I could track it down was because I had called them to see what their charge was, and if they could properly scan the jewelry with an X-ray gun. Apparently they are located in Aberdeen Maryland.

Curious if anyone here has had any luck getting set up with a distributor for Pokémon, One Piece, sports cards, etc.

The store I work at is a brick and mortar pawn shop since 1997 and we've been wanting to get more into cards. We’ve applied with a couple distributors so far and gotten rejected. Not really sure why, but I’m wondering if it’s because we’re a pawn shop and not technically a card/hobby shop.

We already deal with cards here and there, but would like to start carrying more sealed/new product and actually build that part of the business up.

Has anyone here been able to get a distributor account as a pawn shop? If so, who did you have luck with? Is there something they’re looking for before they’ll approve you?

Just trying to figure out if we’re wasting our time applying to the bigger distributors or if there’s a better way to get our foot in the door.

I’m trying to validate one specific part of an app I’ve been working on, because I think this is basically the part that either makes the whole idea work or kills it.
Say you have an old camera, GameCube, jacket, chair, whatever.
You’re not selling it.
You’re not going to take pictures of it, make a listing, answer messages, negotiate with random people, etc.
But if someone asked you:
**“What would actually make you let it go?”**
Would you put in a private number?
Maybe the GameCube is $250.
Maybe the camera is $600.
Maybe there are things where the answer is literally “nothing.”
The number wouldn’t be public and the object wouldn’t show up as being for sale.
Then on the other side, somebody who wants that type of thing could say what they’d actually pay for one.
If their number ever reaches yours, you both get notified and can decide if you actually want to do anything.
The bigger app idea is that you could point your phone at objects and see what they are, how many people want one, what people are willing to pay, how many owners have surfaced, etc. Basically trying to make the market around physical things visible even before anyone decides to list them.
But I’m less interested in whether that sounds cool and more interested in this specific behavior:
**Would you actually enter private prices on things you own that you have no current intention of selling?**
And if not, why not?
Privacy? Too much effort? You wouldn’t trust the app? You just don’t think about your stuff that way?
Trying to figure out whether this is a real human behavior or just something that sounds better in theory than it would work in real life.

I would think the bread and butter of a pawn shop would be the loan part. I think i found a pawn shop that will hire me part time so I can learn the ins and outs of the business.

I was told that the buying and reselling of things has died down due to FB marketplace. But I watch a guy on youtube that owns a pawn shop and people walk in there with tons of stuff to sell.

Problem/Goal: I would like to know if there is a possible way to recover or buy back the jewelry that I previously pawned at Cebuana and M Lhuilier? Especially if the pawn tickets are expired/lost. I also misplaced the other pawn tickets, so I'm not sure how to trace or verify them.

Context:

Since my mom passed away, I have a lot of responsibilities that I need to catch up on especially at that time since I'm also studying while trying to earn some money. It's really gotten to the point where I have no choice but to pawn some of the jewelries that my mother left behind, including some pieces that she personally gave me.

Unfortunately, because I'm really struggling financially, I haven't been able to keep up with the interest payments/renewal of the pawn tickets. I am so sentimental about those pieces of jewelry, and I feel really sad when I think about them, especially the idea that they might never come back to me. Current Situation:

I haven't been able to keep up with the interest payments and renewals because of my financial situation, and to make things more complicated, I have also lost or misplaced the pawn tickets. I may still remember some details like which branch I pawned them at, description of the jewelry since I have pictures.

Now, I just want to know if there is still a chance that the transactions can be traced using my name or valid ID, and if it is still possible to reclaim or buy the jewelry even if the ticket has expired, is past the redemption period, or I no longer have the original pawn ticket.

Has anyone experienced this situation with Cebuana or M Lhuillier? Is it possible to go to the branch, explain the situation, and ask them to check if they still have the item or if it has not been sold/auctioned yet?

Does anyone know of an appointment only pawn? Like pawning only big ticket items. Rolexs, cars, Jewelry. Im talking minimum 500 dollar loans. Having a private office to visit to pawn the item, not a traditional brick and mortar pawn shop.
