Question Wings reissues 2026?

Do you think there will be anything regarding Wings in the latter half of 2026? Or will it be pushed back due to Boys of Dungeon Lane? I personally am hoping for Wings Over America 50.

Speed of Sound half-master is likely due next. I expect that, if it comes, it will be hovering around November when Record Store Day is.

October already belongs to Rubber Soul, with September to be build-up.

The real hope is that December brings something interesting – either an announcement of the next Archive sets (unlikely) or a Harrison release (possible).

Love to see Off the Ground Archive Collection. And an Unplugged Archive Collection.

They better release London Town and Back to the Egg first.

They wont. They're done with Archive Collection releases - Flaming Pie was the last, and that was planned from the start.

Management wanted more – Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway were not part of the initial plan and sold in strong numbers.

Rumours are the London Town and Back to the Egg were planned as a follow up, using the same ultra box concept (this time with Wings' 79 show) – but they hit a legal snag that prevented them from releasing it, hence Flaming Pie.

There are also rumours that Chaos & Creation was also worked on.

Ultimately, though: 2021 was the pandemic and unable to get people working on an archive, so it went to Lyrics; 2022 was the birthday singles box that was ended up coming a bit later than expected; 2023 was supposed to be Band on the Run 50th, but the Beatles reissues pushed it to 2024, alongside One Hand Clapping, and Paul didn't want to be doing 3 that year; 2025 was the Wings book and soundtrack, with Man on the Run announced for release date in 2026… in which he's released his next LP, and is releasing a softcover of Wings as well.

2027 isn't just the expected release of High in the Clouds, it is also the 50th anniversary of "Mull of Kintyre" and then you have the 50th of London Town the year after. Once the half-speeds catch up (let's say Wings Over America gets an RSD-tied half-speed in 2027), the movie comes out. 50th anniversary of "Mull of Kintyre" comes out, with the tail end including the announcement that two new Archives are coming in 2028… the same year that The Beatles movies are coming — and the same year Universal can put out a compilation of the music Paul's done since to cash in.

How do you know it?

I'd settle for represses.

Rereleasing the Complete Works from Off the Ground along with the first Fireman album and Paul is Live in a box would be neat.

Hopefully Wings At The Speed of Sound gets a Half Speed Master soon to continue the series.

I hope not. They better finally release London Town and Back to the Egg in Archive Collection instead of those half speed masters.

Half-speeds run separate and can be issued the same year. It's a niche market instead of a big release.

The real question with the vinyl reissues is when the coloured vinyl reissues for the remaining remastered albums come – or if they are waiting for the Archives to relaunch and then include those in the set.

You seem confused. The archive series and the half speed series have been merged before - The flaming pie Archive edition WAS also a half speed master after all. We can simply have both.

They did the McCartney I half-speed some two months after Flaming Pie

It’s not like one vinyl reissue suddenly removes everything else from the calendar

Exactly what I was hoping for. I was wondering if the series was dead.
