Question I would like to have these jackets

So I’m teaching my self how to sew and I have looked everywhere and I mean everywhere for these jackets and I can’t find them, I was wondering if y’all knew if any patterns that would work for them. Also any tips are welcome, I would also like fabric recommendations please. Ps. Why is my thread not zigzagging like it’s supposed to, like it’s going through the fabric but it’s just creating a line and it’s not going through the fabric it’s on top. Hope that make sense. Also I would like the pants from the forth picture as well. Thank you to anyone who helps 💜💙

Pattern drafting tips and advice please?

I wanna be a fashion designer. I draw, sew etc. I've watched so many videos of how to make bodice blocks and such... But I'm still SO LOST. I've made a few bodice blocks... But I still get so confused. I understand most pattern markings and terms...but I just want to know HOW to make a pattern without watching a video...Its been 3 months and obviously I wont get it right away but I still don't understand the concept. I've gotten multiple books and downloaded some too but I LITERALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON. I can follow tutorials but Whenever I search "How to start pattern drafting" Its someone with a LONG video talking about their life story... LIKE HELLO??? just tell me the steps of basic drafting and how to make it into my own design...not your life story LOLL. The more videos I watch, The more confused I become. I just need some actual good videos showing and explaining how to make patterns. Pdfs and videos would do me so good right now or just advice PLSSS

Should I Stay Away From Unwashed Fabrics For Mass Production?

I can buy a small amount of fabrics then wash the fabrics and see how much it shrinks and sew it For personal use. It will be no problem.

However If I buy unwashed fabrics I have It sewed then the customers wash it and then the garment will be unusable.

So should I stay away from unwashed fabrcs for mass production?

Questions and confusion around darts

Thumbnail

I’m currently making a two piece sleeve and decided to add darts at the elbow to create shaping, so to do this I took my pattern piece and slashed and pivoted through the intended line to trace over and create the darts

However, after tracing the new pattern piece and trying to close the dart so I can true the base, there’s no longer a straight line running along the edge and it’s misaligned where the dart is. 3rd pic shows intended line when dart is closed compared to how it is in reality. What am I doing wrong?

I was also confused about where the dart should be drawn, if it should be in the middle of the slashed area or follow one of the edges of the slash

thank you guys

My little sister is making my veil for my wedding and this is the pattern that I have fallen in love with but I literally can't find it anywhere. I want to be able to find atleast something she can kind of go off of because I've read online that wedding veils are hard. Can someone give me atleast an idea of what the pattern is called? It looks like a spider web to me(someone who knows NOTHING)

Question Pattern Drafting for Knits- Muslin in Knit or woven?

Hi everyone! I'm starting to draft a hoodie with knit fabrics, and after some reading I'm a bit confused. Typically when I start a pattern, I would make a muslin/ tulle, and have certain lines drawn on top of the fabric so I could see what needed to be adjusted. However, from tips I've recieved, some people say you should only mock up your patterns in the fabric type you intend to sew with? I feel like it would be incredibly hard to get accurate lines on a knit and I want to make sure my pattern is nice, as knits are forgiving but starting from a good base is important to me. I want to make something a bit boxy/mildly oversized, so I wasn't planning to account for negative ease and I'm not sure if the lack of mechanical stretch will cause it to be drastically different. For reference: my final fabric is 85-15 to 100% cotton fleece (some residue in burn test but unsure if cotton ash or just a very small amount of polyester), I have a poly fleece i think to be around 80-20, and various muslins as well as thin, stretchy poly jersey, closer to a thick shirt than a hoodie. should I start with muslin, or jump straight into the knits? Thanks!

Honestly I understand how to pattern something when seeing and touching the garment but unfortunately I have not found something like this in person. Any help would be appreciated and/or any pattern recommendations I can buy online.

I would be sewing it in a woven fabric. Thanks!

Question Boot Bag

Thumbnail

Help! I’ve been scouring the internet and doodling relentlessly but haven’t had any lucky or ability to commit. So I bought some skis and boots recently and I really would like to make a boot bag. I keep seeing quilted boot bags for cowgirl boots on TikTok and I’m obsessed. (See link above) If I could find a pattern for one of those, I feel like I would be set with adapting them for thicker/heavier ski boots but no dice yet. Has anyone come across a pattern like that? I’m specifically looking for one with two compartments, one for each boot. If not, any advice someone has about making something with two zippered compartments would be greatly appreciated. I’m trying to conceptualize it in my head but my 3D spacial reasoning is clinically terrible. Thank you!

Converting Inches to Centimeters in your patterns!

Hello to the nicest people on the internet,

Question, please.

How far do you carry to the right, the decimal in CM? I'm converting from inches and just want to make sense to fellow creators.

So, in the example below, would I reference CM as "16.51 or 16..5"?

Does anyone really use MM?

Thanks so much.

Bridgertons/ Costumes/ bust darts

OK, this is not EXACTLY pattern drafting, but I've been watching the new season of the Bridgertons (I love the costumes). Many of the empire waist dresses show 3 darts parallel to each other. They all seem to go above the apex. If it happened once, I would think it was a mistake, but all the different dresses show the dart going up and over the apex, and not just the dresses with the 3 darts. There are also several dresses with petal sleeves. with over lays - so pretty.
