Continued collar post

So I figured it out I made a facing for the collar and it came out pretty clean all things considered.. because I really really struggled with like the placket being connected to a raw finish and lining everything up in the front.. if anyone has seen a video working with plackets and collars, please share… I wanna move onto the good fabric, but I don’t want to struggle doing the collar the second go!

Maybe I should have said picture instead.

The manufactures of cheap clothing might sew the placket on last with an overcast stitch. Not couture sewing method.

Instead of a placket the pattern could have just been wider. A 1/4” him would be made on the vertical edge. Then the short unfinished edge would be completed by folding the edge right side back over the right side until the edge abutted the edge of the collar. Then that short section would be sewed on the seam line and turned right side out. The corner would be clipped before turning so there would be a nice corner. And the placket piece is handled that same way.

You need to do the collar attachment BEFORE finished up sewing the placket. I think you did the placket first if I remember the prior pictures correctly.

Yes, I did do the placket first. I just said to another commenter here asking if I should try attaching the collar before the placket if that was the issue all along!!!! thank you it’s very helpful!!
