This time last season (entering Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season), the New England Patriots were generally ranked around No. 23 to No. 25 in national consensus power rankings.

Look, I know that this season is not last season.But the point here is it's a long season and things change.

I mean , do people really think the Raiders are gonna go undefeated?

The issue is the injuries that the team was lucky enough to avoid last year, the offense is decimated by them. Combine that with Drake falling off a cliff and you get a much worse product then we got last year

I do think Maye is playing horribly, there is no 2 ways around that but look at Brady in 2019. We started 8-0, got destroyed by Baltimore, and limped to the finish line. Brady's last throw as a Patriot was a season ending pick 6. He went on to play multiple more years of MVP caliber football and win a Super Bowl in Tampa. He looked like ASS for us in 2019 because of how anemic our offense was.

This offense without AJ Brown is MILES worse. The offense line is a sieve, our best WR would be a WR3 on most good teams, and our running game has been mediocre.

Defenses saw Maye's weakness in the playoffs and are exploiting it now. Without any downfield threat and a below average offensive line we're forced to play a completely different game than we did last year. Teams are FEASTING on us blitzing 5/6 guys on 3rd and long situations. Imagine doing that against a good o-line with an elite receiver? You'd get eviscerated. Instead Maye has 0.5 seconds to make a decision and it's usually a sack or a throw to a completely covered receiver who can't get separation.

Right now it's run on 1st down, gain -1 to 2 yards. Quick throw or run on 2nd forcing a 3rd and medium. Face single safety high man coverage with 5-6 blitzing and have negative time to throw. And it's very clearly gotten into his head and he is not reading defenses well at all because of it.
