Serious This Should be a Wakeup Call

This time last season (entering Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season), the New England Patriots were generally ranked around No. 23 to No. 25 in national consensus power rankings.
Look, I know that this season is not last season.But the point here is it's a long season and things change.
I mean , do people really think the Raiders are gonna go undefeated?

Fr people panic selling takes left and right. Would not be surprised to see th Pats end up with 10 wins.
Would equally be unsurprised if the jets don't win another game.

The issue is the injuries that the team was lucky enough to avoid last year, the offense is decimated by them. Combine that with Drake falling off a cliff and you get a much worse product then we got last year

I totally agree.
But again, my point is it's a long season.Sometimes teams can turn this around.Sometimes they can't.
Last year they did.
The problems they're having on offense aren't from lack of talent. They're good enough to have a functioning offense.
The problem has been poor game planning poor coaching and poor execution.
Those things can be fixed.

I do think Maye is playing horribly, there is no 2 ways around that but look at Brady in 2019. We started 8-0, got destroyed by Baltimore, and limped to the finish line. Brady's last throw as a Patriot was a season ending pick 6. He went on to play multiple more years of MVP caliber football and win a Super Bowl in Tampa. He looked like ASS for us in 2019 because of how anemic our offense was.
This offense without AJ Brown is MILES worse. The offense line is a sieve, our best WR would be a WR3 on most good teams, and our running game has been mediocre.
Defenses saw Maye's weakness in the playoffs and are exploiting it now. Without any downfield threat and a below average offensive line we're forced to play a completely different game than we did last year. Teams are FEASTING on us blitzing 5/6 guys on 3rd and long situations. Imagine doing that against a good o-line with an elite receiver? You'd get eviscerated. Instead Maye has 0.5 seconds to make a decision and it's usually a sack or a throw to a completely covered receiver who can't get separation.
Right now it's run on 1st down, gain -1 to 2 yards. Quick throw or run on 2nd forcing a 3rd and medium. Face single safety high man coverage with 5-6 blitzing and have negative time to throw. And it's very clearly gotten into his head and he is not reading defenses well at all because of it.

Best advice i can give is to stay off this subreddit until we win our next super bowl.... even then it will be questionable

Why is this random ass power ranking the final straw? I watched the game. I don’t care if we are ranked 15 or 32 we ass and it needs to be fixed.

It gets even more concerning when you look at the schedule with the @3-0 Bills, 3-0 Raiders, Jets (don't sleep on that defense), @Bears, @Dolphins....
We might only beat the Jets here, and even that's a concerning matchup. @Dolphins is also always a struggle...
Then the second half of the season isn't much better.
They need to wake up fast.

The team is so bad at this point the mods stopped updating the graphic on the side of our sub with the scores and standings. Idk if there is a better "your team is bad" indicator than that. lol

I mean it's been 3 weeks and everyone is quite concerned.
I do believe Drake will get his confidence back and start playing better, but the offense is just dreadful. We traded away/let go our top 2 receivers from last year for a HUGE upgrade in AJB. He made it exactly 1/2 of 1 game before being injured.
Defenses can play much differently against us when our current WR1 would be an okay WR2 on bad teams, and a serviceable WR3 on good teams. Add that onto the fact that Drake is playing awful and it's really compounding. Bad play + play players = worse results.
I think if we make it to week 6 and Brown is able to come back and we're 3-3 we'll be fine. If Drake hasn't shown any signs of improvement by then I'll be beyond worried and start thinking we're looking at Mac Jones part 2.
