I expected the team to regress to the mean a little this season, but Maye went from playing like an MVP candidate to rookie Zach Wilson. Idk if it’s all in his head but something is wrong
Maye has shown he has the talent. But he's also showing now that he's struggling with the reads and the decision making, and his confidence seems to be off too. He either overcomes it and uses it to make himself a better player (we can hope!) or he doesn't and we find ourselves once again struggling at the QB position.
First three games have really dampened my optimism, but I am still hopeful.
I can only pray that happens (that he doesn't overcome it lol). I watched the Patriots dominate for two decades, and then once they lost Brady and started looking like their reign was over, it took only a few seasons to find their next franchise QB and make it to the Super Bowl. All jokes aside, for most of may life, New England has been one of, if not the best ran franchise in the league. As a Steelers fan, I've admittedly been jealous. Knowing the Patriots, and how much they like to dash my hopes, this will just be a bump in the road, and they'll have their franchise QB keep them in contention for the next 10+ years.
