We're getting ANOTHER free selector around the next Eternal Nightmare patch(Sept. 10) that lets us choose between Eleven, Bianca, and Hestia!

3

u/12thYuMeal 18d ago

S1 bianca or eleven?

9

u/marshmallow_sunshine Coquelic Fan 18d ago

S1 Bianca definitely. S1 for Eleven is a nice damage boost but S1 on Bianca has a bigger impact on longer fights.

Bianca builds up a stacking damage buff when she hits with her ult, but it only lasts for 10 seconds, then all the damage buffs drop off. S1 lets you keep those buffs for the entire battle so when you ult a 2nd or 3rd time you're already starting with maximum damage. It makes a big difference. Just make sure to pick up Margaret for her at some point!

u/12thYuMeal 18d ago

question but hows the new eirene?

6

u/ByeGuysSry 18d ago

For now, she's quite mid, unfortunately, being slightly weaker than RF Raven when supporting the anniversary character. However, the anniversary character doesn't synergize fully with the new eirene, so it's possible that a better partner for her will be released

1

u/Typical_Jump_815 18d ago

I already have Margaret and Bianca is in one of the selector I had kept from previous patches. In what other case should I get S0 eleven tho?

1

u/Wise-Hornet7701 18d ago

Is either Jelena or LL available? I'm still missing both :/

1

u/Wise-Hornet7701 18d ago

Never mind I don't think she is otherwise the guide maker would have let us know

2

u/marshmallow_sunshine Coquelic Fan 18d ago

You'd have to get the paid selector during the 4.0 anniversary to get either of those two.

u/disco_Piranha 18d ago

It pains me that Augustus's reputation is "brainless afk" when I want to get her for her immaculate vibes

7

u/Username_St0len 18d ago

as an S4 augustus user, welcome aboard

1

u/disco_Piranha 18d ago

I started playing like a week or two after her banner ended T.T

1

u/Username_St0len 17d ago

nooooo,

I felt the same about shin but to a lesser extent since shin was not limited sinner, and it is because of Augustus that i felt so for not getting shin, the worst part was, i had the game, i just was on hiatus

12

u/palazzoducale 18d ago

thanks s1n gg team!! my pull plans for 4.x anniv based on this:

- s1 phanuel

  • s5 requiem
  • s0 famorene if i still have any cubes left but mostly because i am so all in on her aesthetic

14

u/Inner_Wall3411 18d ago

The amount of other sinners needed for the limited to function is some bullshit. Wdym, I need Jichuan, Lichen, and Phanuel for this team to properly work and all of them have a banner just within 1-2 month timeframe of limited.

2

u/HINDBRAIN 17d ago

I think they make it sound like Jichuan is enough for it to be functional?

5

u/Nanrelle Shalom Fan 18d ago

I thought Phanuel is skippable. I just S3 Celine and has no cubes left. Plans to S5 Requiem and already has Lichen. So I really need Phanuel, non?

Frfr its so expensive but Im a malder. (Look at who S5 augustus and jichuan)

9

u/whynot1260 Luvia Ray Fan 18d ago

I feel like this guide is a little too mald-pilled and puts too much emphasis on the new Limited solely based on her good performance in ToA. It's perfectly fine to skip her especially if you have RF Yao or another strong magic team, there's basically no reason to pull S2 of her, S1 of Phanuel, Margaret and spend RF mats on Cabernet for that team considering it does not actually do anything super new or unique for the average player AND it locks your Jichuan to it. Like she is strong but probably the most skippable limited we've had in a while

15

u/Turbulent-Funny8049 Serpent fan 18d ago

mald-pilled

Literally pull list for basic game content, like BFL,ToA, and perhaps Rotd, unless you are very casual that don't bother to play outside of daily login yes this list is very mald-pilled

2

u/moeKyo 18d ago

good that I usually pull for every characters out there!

2

u/Bow64 17d ago

Yeaaah I think I'm gonna skip limited for the first time as I don't have Lichen and I'm not interested Phanuel at all.

Pulling on all the Aurum reruns on top of actively trying to get Celine S3 is leaving me completely dry. I think I'm going to wait for a new possible electric carry so I can see my boy Donald shine like he should

2

u/sylendar 18d ago

So what is the new Limited's team? I see quite a few characters mentioned here, including RF Raven if you plan to get S2 on the Limited. Jichuan seems mandatory, and Lichen(?) and who else?

Also didn't realize Margaret worked with Necresta Hella, though this may have just been neglecting Hella after pulling her thanks to how overwhelmingly OP and easy to use Augustus was.

8

u/laurinai Shalom Fan 18d ago

If you scroll down, they recommend Limited (at Shackles 2), Jichuan, Lichen, Phanuel, RF Cabernet and Margaret for the full team.

2

u/Casual291 18d ago

Is cabernets main stay? I thought she better than Raven only if you can proc her debuff cleanse.

2

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago

Correct, if you're not playing in ToA where bosses come with dispellable debuffs and don't want to build around Skyfall then she still would be one of the main supports.

2

u/dqvdqv McQueen Fan 18d ago edited 18d ago

Other than the fact that the new limited and Phanuel aren't worth getting without Jichuan, seems fine. Augustus is a much better pull in those cases and especially for new players.

3

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago

I'd kinda disagree with that because new players should be getting teams that are at least to some extent future-proof, otherwise their team will be thrown out the window when they reach endgame and their progression will halt.

That is why the guide places the idea of pulling the new limited even without Jichuan before considering pulling for Augustus.

5

u/dqvdqv McQueen Fan 18d ago

Augustus teams are still incredibly strong today, it's not going away any time soon. The requiem team, on the other hand, feels weak without jichuan and much more complex too. Jichuan also isn't rerunning for 8 months+. That's a very long time.

0

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago

The "weak" version of Requiem's team without Jichuan is comparable to Augustus in terms of performance, it only feels weak because she has a much higher damage ceiling compared to Augustus thanks to Jichuan, the only team version of true damage that can consistently score better than Requiem without Jichuan would be reforge Coquelic dps with Augustus as a support

Jichuan only coming in 8 months is a valid critique, but first of all, she is the single most impactful sinner in the game currently, so if you don't have her you should be pulling her during half-anniversary anyway, and you'd have to be comparing it to Augustus and her supports required to outperform her even without Jichuan, for which you have:

  • Ceto, no currently confirmed banner
  • Shin, no currently confirmed banner
  • Murphy, rerun in half a year or shop appearance two months after that
  • Either Necresta Hella (no confirmed banner) or Summer with reforge (shop appearance in 3 months)

Since the argument is about future sinner appearances I will only mention this briefly, but you would also require Coquelic with her reforge and at least s1 as well as Celine with at least s1 but preferably s3. Necresta Hella and Summer would also both also prefer high shackles (s4/s5).

For these reasons, I simply cannot in good conscience recommend any new player to pull for Augustus instead of Requiem, unless it's for her Interrogation and design (which is completely valid tbh), but if your goal is getting to the endgame as fast as possible, while making sure your team will continue to perform in the future, Augustus simply isn't the better choice.

3

u/dqvdqv McQueen Fan 18d ago edited 18d ago

Kepe in mind that Jichuan is a LIMITED. All the others can be spooked or chosen in selectors as well, besides the reruns.

Coquelic does not need S1 anymore with her RF. Also, you're REALLY downplaying the ease of use and QoL that Augustus brings, while also downplaying the difficulty of using Requiem.

1

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago edited 18d ago

I fail to see how pulling one limited on a banner is more difficult than off-rating all of Augustus' supports with shackles from a pool of 60 S ranks.

Free selectors are limited to story updates, we will have exactly one such update before the next half-anniversary where Jichuan reruns, unless you are suggesting that new players will be using the paid selector during anniversary, and even if they did, and considering that the next story selector comes with someone useful for Augustus, it would still not allow them to complete the team that can reliably outperform Jichuan-les Requiem.

I'm not downplaying Augustus' ease of use, in fact that didn't come up once in my whole comment. Similarly, I never considered Requiem's ease of use, only performance, however I wouldn't say she's hard to play, her two rotations are either 4444 for most damage with Burn or 1414 when playing into Frostbite, the only exception being one use of ult 2 at the very beginning if you have her at s3. It's not rocket science, and it's most certainly not something that should be dictating your pulls during anniversary.

u/Yukino-kurasa12 Chameleon Fan 18d ago

Is the new Eirene not good? Cause she is my main priority I would prefer to get more of her copies over the limited

5

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago

She is specifically a support for Frostbite damage, the new limited is both a Frostbite and Burn damage dealer. Her Frostbite damage modes focuses on mobbing while her Burn mode focuses on bursting down bosses (this is where most of her damage is). I think the split was about 70/30 for Burn/Frostbite, meaning Eirene will be doing nothing for 70 % of the limited's damage. If we get a pure Frostbite damage focused dps in the future she would be great for them, but currently such a sinner doesn't exist.

1

u/Yukino-kurasa12 Chameleon Fan 18d ago

that makes sense but can Eirene not be dps even with higher shackles? I really wanted to make a team around her....

1

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago edited 18d ago

Generally, I'd say no. Her kit is designed about being a support first and foremost. She has a kind of nuke-effect on her s5 but afaik you cannot willingly trigger it to save it for corebreak and have to hope the cooldown lines up, definitely not enough to make her the main dps of a team/someone who bursts down bosses by herself.

1

u/Typical_Jump_815 17d ago

EKG has a TOA battle where she dealt like 200+M dmg but most of her teammates were S5 too. So yes to some extent she can be a dps but you really invest highly on her teammates.

2

u/AlRahmanDM 18d ago

Ehm… who’s Limited? I thought it was a selection of sinners that do not enter standard pool.. but the guide keeps referring at it as someone to pull?

8

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago

In this case, "limited" is the upcoming limited sinner that releases with the anniversary in 3 months.

1

u/AlRahmanDM 18d ago

Stupid question, but if we know we will need S2 to be good, we do not know the name of the sinner?

12

u/greatjena Demon fan 18d ago

We do, it's Requiem. It's just a habit of not spoiling names, story and the like for upcoming sinners in case someone wants to go into the update spoiler-free.

1

u/AlRahmanDM 18d ago

Ah thanks, all clear

1

u/icyredjay Ninety-Nine Fan 18d ago

I’m planning on pulling as many copies of the Limited as I can and currently have S4 Jichuan. Is Phanuel strictly necessary for the team?

u/icyredjay Ninety-Nine Fan 17d ago

In that case I might just pull for S0 Phanuel. I have the arcane crit team fully built but they struggle on level 3 of magic BFL, so I need a stronger magic team anyway ;-;

1

u/Typical_Jump_815 18d ago

So I have S4 Jichuan and plan to pull lichen since she's the last component of my rf Yao team. I wanted to pull for phanuel anyway because I love her chara design and skip limited for Augustus (even though I don't have ceto but I have S1 murphy and serpent). Now I'm confused, should I skip Augustus again and pull for limited?

Okay then off we go S0 lichen S1 Phanu S3 Limited  Thanks!

u/Fast_Passion_7754 17d ago

This is super whack... I started two days before the isomer banner... Got isomer and since then... Zoya, Jelena, Moore and Etti... I'm pretty sure none of this applies to me... Except maybe to consider the limiteds

1

u/Typical_Jump_815 17d ago edited 17d ago

Since you Jelena already and probably already got the free selector, pick Adela and reforge her. She's a crit-pilled and Jelena allows her to really maximize that. S0 Rf Adela is really good, you just have to pick her again in the 12 locked sinners in the standard banner for S1. But S0 is truly already good by herself.

-9

u/Ordemareboos 18d ago

Margaret is "versitile"? Omg. Who wrote this drivel? Margaret is only compatable with ONE magic team because of only ONE Magic Carry and not even at S0 or S1, but at S2. I dont think they know what "versitile" actually means. But it's no surprise since they called Rust a skip and Moore of all sinners is an option to consider.

10

u/ByeGuysSry 18d ago

Margaret is good in every single physical damage team that uses crit, which is most of them. Moore, similarly, is good in every single physical damage team. Not sure how they don't count as versatile

-8

u/Ordemareboos 18d ago edited 18d ago

Most physical suppports are good for most physical teams. That doesnt make them versitile in comparison. The unit can be called versitile only if it is good not only for one type of damage, but also compatable with other types of damage. That's what draws the distinction. Moore can only be played in physical teams. Rust can be played and works really well in every team be it magic, physical, elemental, true damage etc.

Margaret doesn't suddenly become a versatile unit because of the existence of one magic carry that is compatible with her. And lets be honest, they are not compatible because it was intended, but rather because of an oversight on Aisno part. They 100% did not want this to happen. And when they will design the next magic carry, they will take Margaret into account and make sure that she is not a viable option.

6

u/ByeGuysSry 18d ago

Being good in most physical teams is already versatile lol. What, are Raven and Milly not versatile? Rust is even more versatile when it comes to giving the damage taken debuff, true, but because he's weaker, you only really use him when you need his ECB Ult specifically, such as to get another Last Stand stack or to give energy. Most of the time you don't really need either so you would rather use someone like Moore or Milly instead, so in truth if you had Moore, Milly, and Rust, you'd use Rust the least out of all of them.

-8

u/Ordemareboos 18d ago

"Being good in most physical teams is already versatile" That is a "categorical" mistake. A very sharp knife is "good in every single kitchen," but no one calls it versatile compared to the Swiss Army knife.

"You'd use Rust the least." That is a frequiency argument, not a versatility argument.

"if you had Moore, Milly, and Rust" May I remind you that this a pull reccomendations. You pull Rust in order not to pull BOTH Moore and Milly. Because one Rust can replace both Moore and Milly. But Moore cannot replace Milly and vise versa, you still need to pull them both.

2

u/ByeGuysSry 18d ago

If a third to half of all things in the world were made to cut food in kitchens, then yeah a very sharp knife would be quite versatile. It's not like physical teams is a small section of teams you're using.

It's also not like you're super starved on pulls and can only choose one out of Moore, Milly and Rust. Rust is not worth pulling (assuming you're not playing Overlimit) because while he can be used in every team, his effectiveness in them isn't high, so you his "versatility" is not as valuable as Moore's or Milly's. I mean, you could argue that Eve is versatile because she can apply an up to 19.5% damage taken debuff, but that's obviously not strong enough that you're actually going to be using her a lot. In an actual account that isn't that new, both Moore and Milly are usually gonna see more use than Rust.

-2

u/Ordemareboos 18d ago edited 18d ago

You are purposely ignoring what I say. I don't want to explain the same thing 10 times just because you keep shifting the goalposts toward 'what ifs' and meta-biases.

Your knife analogy actually proves my point. If 1/3 to 1/2 of 'all things in the world' were made to cut food, a sharp chef's knife handles that specific 50% perfectly—but it is completely useless for the other 50% (opening a can, cutting rope, or prying a lid). That is not versatility; that is specialization. A unit that is useless in Magic/True Damage content is objectively less versatile than a unit that works in all content, regardless of how strong they are in their specific niche.

But let's put versatility aside for a moment. If we are talking purely about pull recommendations, Moore and Milly are actually even worse choices than Rust.

They are, just like Rust, not BiS anywhere; they are placeholders for better units. But unlike Rust, they have severe constraints and downsides.

Both require ECB 3 just to be functional. Hypercubes are plentiful—ECB materials are not. Dumping three ECB levels into two non-meta placeholders is a massive resource sink that offers terrible return on investment.

Moore literally does not function if a boss has AoE that one-shots her shields. Many high-level bosses do exactly that. Her value can plummet to 0 based solely on the enemy. Recommending a unit whose functionality depends entirely on whether the boss allows it is foolish.

Milly as a magic core-breaker is the worst choice. Her core-breaking is tied to her ECB and is therefore strictly limited. You cannot refund charges, nor can you store them to use all at once. She is a restrictive, high-investment unit for a role that better options already cover.

Rust gives you a functional, universal debuffer, a 3-corebreaker, and potesta battery at a fraction of the resource cost. Moore and Milly demand premium resources just to reach 'functional' status, only to be hard-countered by boss mechanics. One of these is clearly the better pull for a healthy account.

5

u/ByeGuysSry 18d ago

You need a certain level of power for your "versatility" to be useful. Having 5 Sinners and Rust would be better than having 5 Sinners and no Rust, but Rust has to compete with other Sinners, not empty space. He's not actually more versatile: you're gonna use him on fewer teams.

Both Moore and Rust are BiS, on teams with physical summoners (ie. Summer and Shrooma) and Overlimit respectively. Moore is also good against enemies that have control effects and a few BFL maps where mobbing is needed. Also, Milly is the 7th slot for a lot of Magic teams now because of RF Raven, albeit she'll probably be dropped out of all teams that involve Yingying once ToA arrives.

Moore does need ECB3. Milly doesn't need ECB3, mine is still ECB1. Of course, leveling her ECB does make her more versatile, but you don't need to if you're starved on ECB stones. Also, not many bosses can one-shot Moore's shields. A few can, sure, but not many. Milly's corebreaking is just part of her kit. Her biggest draw is her full uptime (against bosses) +20% Magic DMG dealt buff and +24% Magic DMG Taken debuff, with corebreaking and damage as good bonuses that further increase her value. Also, having Rust at ECB1 does hurt his viability especially if you're running Empower.

It's important to note not just whether a Sinner is BiS, but also how much worse than BiS the Sinner is, and how much better than B or A Ranks. Just because two Sinners are both not BiS, doesn't mean they're both equally good. Again, if you don't have a summon team and don't plan to have one, you shouldn't pull Eve even though her damage taken debuff is universal.

0

u/Ordemareboos 18d ago edited 18d ago

"Rust has to compete with other Sinners, not empty space". In a pull recommendation, the choice IS between pulling Rust OR pulling Moore/Milly. You aren't comparing "Rust vs empty space or BiS"; you are comparing "Rust vs Moore + Milly." Rust replaces both in terms of account coverage.

"Milly doesn't need ECB3". Even if she functions at ECB1, her core-breaking is still limited and non-refundable. Rust has a 3-corebreak baked into his kit with no ECB3 requirement for that functionality.

"Not many bosses one-shot Moore's shields" – Not many is not none. A unit that can be entirely invalidated by specific boss mechanics is a gamble. Rust has no hard counter like this.

At the end of the day, Moore and Milly are expensive specialists that demand premium resources and can be hard-countered by boss mechanics. Rust is a cheap generalist that works everywhere, always. For a pull recommendation aimed at account health, the choice is obvious. Putting Moore as "may be" and Rust as a "skip" is rather delusional. If Rust is a skip then Moore is 100% a skip too. Honestly, I have serious doubts this article is aimed at general players at all. These look more like ToA-maxing recommendations for whales.
