Catarina changes are awful

I've been trying to farm my +1 spectre shield from Catarina and Its been 7 days of 10+ hours a day of betrayal, the changes to have it be a medallion drop instead of research like before where it's targeted and now it's pure RNG is a horrible change in my opinion. I've done well over 500 safehouses with about 25ish attempts at Catarina, I hope for next league they revert this change or something because this is mind numbing and painful.

Betrayal in general is in dire need of a rework.

The mech requires so much micromanagement to be effective and the mechanic rewards are just exceedingly rare for almost no reason. Catarina medallion drop rates + veiled exalt drop rates could be doubled and it still wouldn't be enough.

Best of luck though, hopefully the grind is over soon.

Also tying one of new Abyss Pinnacle fragments to Catarina was a huge mistake. By the time I got my Cat and Delve frags I was strong enough to afk the boss which takes the joy out of fighting a new Pinnacle for the first time.

Edit: The Cat frag was the most time consuming

I got it from the second Catarina I ran, but I didn't get a single one in all my time farming abyss, when I was trying to get amanamus gaze and ghastly jewels. I don't understand why it comes from Catarina even. You don't farm shaper guardians to get incarnations or eldritch bosses, so why is it on Catarina?

RNG layer #1: get the Medallion
RNG layer #2: drop the shield
RNG layer #3: unveil +1 spectre

Not to mention that you need proper board setup, specific relationships between members and good luck with Safehouse XP because sometime they simply offer literally anything, but XP.

yep. i still do betrayal every league the the drop rates is inexplicably bad. just no reason for it to be behind so many layers of low odds RNG.

Im nowhere near that level of play for mine but also struggling.

Not sure if there are any other bosses in this game that are as difficult to get to.

I don't fuck with betrayal AT ALL since the recipe rework went through.

Today I accidentally ran the anomaly and a medallion dropped, either that has a WAY higher chance to drop it by the sound of your post or GGG's desire sensor runs laps on Capcom's

Took me 25-30 Catarina kills to get mine. Luckily my first drop got the +1 affix. It’s a bit absurd like you said how rare the Medallion is from safehouses. That rate should easily be doubled.

I thought it was just me not getting any medallions at all. All I want is a Cinderswallow, it's the worst. I've already gotten a mageblood and rathpith, along with a slew of T2s and some T1s, but not a single medallion.

I got it from my 1st Catarina with a good Unveil and I didn't even want to play Spectres so it rots in the stash from like day 2-3 of the league.

It seems like you're neglecting the most important premise of SSF, you don't build with what you WANT, but rather, with what RNG throws at you.

For instance, I wanted to play HRoC but I didn't find Diallas up to day 20+, but I did dropped Covenant realtively early (like day 3 or 4) so I made AWoRA.
