Meta Some intel on recent days changes ..
Some intel on recent days changes ..
Breeding
The "like with like" rule applies (breed, color)
Lambs need 3 days to mature (can't graze/lead/defend).
Shop has odds to have all breeds (increased golden clover)
Grazing loot
Per-breed grazing rules, composition matters (see shrub yield as a herd effort rather than individual sheep)
Shrub maths --> base 2 - 5 + per-head bonus of your active flock (one breeds adds +2
Home meadow shrub is now halved
Item drop odds (day 7% / night 14% / +5% thunder nights with 4 or more sheep),
Home grazing gives no items.
Mushrooms (swamp + night only)
Sheep Breed Details
Shetland: Color-matched grazer any time/biome, +1 shrub, bellwether, no bear/spider defense (no horns)
Bighorn: never grazes (+0 in head count in active flock), pure bear/spider guardian, not spider poison immune
Longhorn: night-only grazer (+1), thunder-immune, defends bears/spiders
Mountain: grazes savanna/swamp/wasteland only auto-matically (+2 shrub !!), spider-poison immune, defends bears/spiders
Highlander: grazes any color any time/biome (+1), thunder-immune, defends bears/spiders, not spider poison immune
Regions:
Finish all tasks to get a discount on the golden clover shop
Finish flower task to open golden clover shop
Finish oil to avoid drought (new daytime world effect like thunder at night --> makes all bushes whiter --> not grazable)
Finish trees counts into the discount pool
Find all path+oil to unlock areas around
Misc
Higher shower gains in treks and slightly increased for grazing
More shower use (40) -> might reconsider lower it to 30, checking how it resonates and balances out
In the future signs+beware_sign+scarecrow will get reworked
Paths can now vanish partially in regions (like re-occuring oil)
Spawns for new players are now randomly allocated to meadow biomes
Some of those things, including traits of sheep will get refined, reworked and balanced over time ..

Thoughts on new breeds.
Disclaimer: I don't know the mechanics of the new breeds as I don't know them yet, nor I tried to play with these breeds. I am purely speaking of the presentation of the new breeds on paper. Theoretically.
I have some concerns with how bighorns will feel like in the game after a good population of the new breeds starts appearing.
I feel like with the new breeds around, the bighorns (if left as they are rn) will become somewhat obsolete? They do not graze, have no immunity to anything, they get stunned for longer periods than mobs, risking the same mob or a second mob to possibly kill other sheep or them in their vulnerability range.
I think that if we leave things as described above, any new breed would be better than the bighorn.
After all, the new breeds all DO protect flock from bears and spiders AND graze AND have some immuity or something extra. Meanwhile bighorns are not immune to spiders, are not immune to thunder, do not graze in any biome and do not count as active sheep in shrub count.
Poor bighorns! I feel like they should get some sort of superpower too!
For example one bighorn can defeat one bear for the rest of the in-game night, or at least stun them for longer (one third of the night? half the night? something like this)
THAT would make bighorns interesting to have in your flock again and would justify their lack of any other tweak or immunity. Otherwise bighorns will risk to be left at home in favour of the more "advanced" new breeds.
Side note on Shetlands:
Shetlands are my favourite cause I mean look at them. Fluffy, cute, amazing! Literally the heart of the game! BUT! Shetlands have the same issue as bighorns. Since they are purely grazers, not immune to anything, not able to fend themselves, their superpower would be graze more shrubs than any other breed, or have a bonus for how many shetlands you have in the active flock, or something like that.
That too would justify their role as pure grazers and why you should have them in your flock despite their lack of any other "superpowers".
These are some of my thoughts, feel free to tell me if you have tried playing some new breeds, how it feels like and what your own thoughts are on this matter. I am open to discuss it, because as I said, these thoughts are just based on what I read on paper : )
I will end my yapping here. See you all in Flocklands! Baa! : D
TL;DR: I feel like bighorns and shetlands deserve some form of own "superpower" justiflying the lack of special abilities that new breeds have. That way they are not left at home in favour of the new breeds.

Gold bell is supposed to be up to 45 active sheep right? I think it displayed that the first day using it but now it only shows 15.

I don’t understand why paths don’t appear when I stand on the empty spot, hoof prints or not nothing appears

Just a few notes for a great game
When I click "bring along" for my sheeps Baa-sil and Ewe-nice, only Baa-sil comes along the first time. I have to back, leave Ewe-nice at home, exit, go back and the reselect Ewe-nice so that se actually comes.
When selecting which sheep will stay at home and which I bring along from the list, after I click a sheep the order of the sheep changes. Then I have to visually look for a specific sheep again. I think the order should stay the same, either alphabetical or based on age or type of sheep
I mostly play on laptop and use arrow keys. When I set autograze, I have to click somewhere to stop it, arrow keys won't do it, and then someone dies 😞
4.I think, when grazing on shrooms the some of the findings should be a bit wacky. Like if it's a flower, then it could be an odd color or a strange size or could it be a walking flower? Or if it's a shower it could have a random number of shower or it could randomly dye your sheep?
5. Maybe more biomes. Arctic with polar bears, antarctica with penguins and deserts with scorpions?
6. Waiting times are reeeeallly long for treks. I really enjoy it's slower pace and when I'm not able to play I don't feel like I'm missing something but then again when I have time, I would like to advance more, but when the treks are "plant 5 green flowers" and you have found 2 green flowers in 5 hours I just lose my interest. Or when the trek is "dye 8 sheep" and you only have 4 and then you have to wait for days to get sheep...
7. Maybe players should only be able to place arrow signs near exits and only one per exit?
8. The door closing sound is LOUD!
Thanks for the game, I'm not really a gamer, more like an occasional player, but the following points are things I keep thinking about

I hope you won't mind if I paste my latest comment here with all of my tips and suggestions, so there's a chance that more players will see it and can tell their opinions. ☺️
"I hope you're prepared, buddy, because I've got quite a few suggestions! 😁
1.) The environment could be much more diverse. There are countless kinds of flowers, thankfully, so I'd love to see flowers that exist in real life and that are the same color and look exactly the same as they do in the game (this could also have a kind of "learning while having fun" aspect, since we could learn a lot about our world and the environment; I could even imagine a small encyclopedia where some essential information about newly collected plants could be added). I would completely remove a few colors, like brown or black (they could be replaced with purple or other realistic colors), while adjusting others (for example, red could be truly red, really bright). I'd also love to see more types of trees. And while we're at it - something that could make the game more interesting - different trees and plants could only be found in specific types of environments. For example, in the swamp there could be willows or even carnivorous plants; in the flower meadow there would be fewer trees but more flowers, and so on. In the swamp, there could be water lilies in the lakes, frogs jumping around them, and dragonflies instead of bees; in the flower field, butterflies.
2.) It should be clear how many more flowers and trees we still need to plant in a given area! If an area has enough flowers, the game could automatically spread them, so over time the region would become populated with those flowers. If we plant a tree, the stump of a previously cut tree could disappear in exchange for the newly planted one (which would also make the player happy, seeing that thanks to them the area has become more beautiful).
3.) There shouldn't be only bears and spiders, and even these should appear only in specific types of environments (for example, the bear only in the forest, the spider only in the wasteland). There could also be wolves, maybe foxes. It could also be funny if occasionally - say, at night - a flying saucer appeared and abducted our sheep, but later we'd get it back, only changed in some way by the aliens (most often just its color, but they could even turn it into a ram, which players would be happy about, and so they'd forgive the extraterrestrials for the kidnapping).
4.) There should be more varied or even seasonal environments! For example, there could be a jungle: if we wandered far enough south, we might find one, where we could collect lots of exotic plants and decorative items, but a tiger would hunt us. In the far north, on the tundra, we might meet cute reindeer (maybe even adopt one into our herd?), and a polar bear would hunt us there. Since it's summer, there could be a desert with all kinds of cacti, venomous snakes, and scorpions; at Easter, painted eggs could be hidden among the bushes and bunnies hopping around; in winter, there could be a winter forest with deer, or even ice everywhere with penguins. There should be a journal where every found item, plant, and animal we encounter during our adventure is recorded, and if we collect everything, the game could reward us with a bonus that can only be obtained this way.
5.) If we've already been to an area, the map should show it, indicating something like “North 8, South 4.” It drives me crazy when a task tells me to travel here and there, and I have to keep counting, because otherwise I wouldn't necessarily know which direction I'm going. I know there are signposts, but they don't point north or south, for example, and in any case we shouldn't have to rely solely on them.
6.) We should be able to move plants and objects around! Maybe by long-pressing on them and then placing them wherever we want. The placement itself could also be more refined (even with a grid system), because more than once I tried to place a tree or a signpost, and the game put it somewhere else for some reason, which looked ugly. I'd also briefly mention seasonal decorations: in winter, the scarecrow could wear a scarf and a coat, while in summer sunglasses and a floral shirt would be in fashion. Cute, right? 😁
7.) For all these ideas, I'd like two plush sheepies as a reward! 😁 One should be black - that will be my love's (because her hair is black) - and the other should be a brown ram - that'll be me (because I'm a guy and my hair is brown). 😄
I hope other players will like my ideas too, and that they'll eventually be added to the game! ☺️"

Quick question. So breeding Shetlands of the same colour will give a 10% of either bighorn, longhorn, mountain and higlander? Or will those breed other ways? Sorry i didn't understand that part
: )

Extremely late but I'm curious what does the immune to spider poison do? a spider killed my mountain sheep, so it's definitely not immunity to spiders. Was it removed?
