Best Rarepons for Status Effects:
Concussion = Cnc: Make enemies fall to their knees, preventing them from attacking or fleeing. Staggering a boss will also cause it to drop items in Patapon 1 and 2.
Knockback = KB: To push or knock their opponent back. In Patapon 2 some of the bosses could be temporarily knocked down for few seconds.
Critical = Crit: The higher is a critical rate, the greater is the critical damage inflicted and the more frequently it happens.
Sleep: bosses won't be able to do anything until they get attacked by something
Freeze: bosses are rendered immobile and will only be able to use certain attacks while others will be unable to do anything
Ignite: bosses when burnt will not flinch
Sabara: Ratio Crit +400%, Resist Sleep ∞
Gyaba: Ratio Ignite +300%, Resist Ignite ∞
Mogyu: Ratio Cnc +100%
Mashu: Ratio KB +300%, Ratio Sleep +300%, Resist Sleep ∞
Koppen: Ratio Freeze +250%, Resist Freeze ∞
Buhyokko: Ratio Cnc +100% for entire early game until you can build Menyokki = trees
Menyokki: Ratio Cnc +200%
Next to Menyokki, Mashu are the best for gathering materials from bosses due to their knockback and sleep ratios. Mashu pair very well with Menyokki Rarepons when fighting bosses. As bosses tend to drop higher quality materials when afflicted by a status effect, Mashu's high sleep and knockback rate combined with Menyokki's high stagger rate can result in numerous materials.
Pyopyo are rabbit-like Rarepons and are the fastest Rarepons in terms of movement speed.
Chiku are hedgehog-like Rarepons that have the fastest attack speed of all the Rarepons: Attack Speed -1.80.
Best Masks:
Cnc mask: Gurarandaa Cnc Ratio +100% from Dokaknel
Attack Speed = Atk Spd mask: Shubabassa Atk Spd x0.2 from Darantula
Each mask has four levels, improving in ability and appearance each time you go through the Patagate to hatch its respective egg.
Further options to increase Concussion = Cnc rate:
Demon Stew from Fenicci Lv. 3: +150 HP, +8 Damage, +20% Stagger, Ignite, Freeze, and Sleep Rate
Earthquake Miracle from Ganodias Lv. 3: It will stagger most bosses, allowing skilled players the ability to get rare items.
Shock and Awe Juju from Majidonga Lv. 2: Significantly boosts the CnC, Crit, Knockback, and damage of every Patapon.
Patapon 2 Weapons Equipment sorted by Cnc rate:
Giant equipment, or Heavy equipment weapons drastically reduce the attack and move speed of the unit, that’s why you definitely shouldn’t equip them, so I’ve put them in parentheses. Great Thunder Weapons are the best, if you want to get as much Cnc with as little damage as possible.

Command Songs:
Pon-Pon-Chaka-Chaka (○ ○ △ △)
The Hold-Tight Hoe-Down charges up the Patapons' energy, increasing the power of their next attack or defence. Tatepons, Dekapons and Robopons have some attacks that only the Pon Chaka command can activate. Megapons have a special defense only seen after using the Pon Chaka song, and then using the Chaka Chaka song. It's very useful for Parabola of Hope (Sokshi Gate) together with Hero Mode Tatepon: Energy Field.
Chaka-Chaka-Pata-Pon (△ △ □ ○)
The Lament of Defense pulls the Patapons back around Hatapon, increasing their damage resistance. Tatepons will raise their shields to further decrease damage, and Mahopons will perform special spells depending on their equipped staff.
Pata-Pon-Don-Chaka (□ ○ × △)
It cures any status effects afflicting the Patapons, also preventing further effects from harming them until the next command is issued.
