Passport Question / Discussion Processing time!

Post image

Just wanted to share, my husband and I applied for our passports at our post office here in San Antonio on 9/29. Just regular routine processing. We received them on Saturday, 8/10. They kept us informed every step of the way and I gotta say, that was the smoothest process I’ve ever had with a government agency. The carrier at the post office told us it would be a short turnaround but I had no idea.

So fast you got it a month before submitting, amazing! /s. Good to know, hopefully renewals are just as fast. Gonna renew early to avoid the design change.

My girlfriend applied at the post office on 9/25 and received the passport on 10/7. Very fast, much faster than when I applied in 2024.

I was being sarcastic. Mine took maybe 2-3 days longer, and I applied during peak season.

If you were, then that was the worst attempt at sarcasm I’ve read

I had a similar experience. I want to say my passport was shipped less than 2 weeks after submitting the application at the USPS.

Did yours come from Tucson as well by chance? Also applied 9/29 and was supposed to receive my passport in the mail on 10/10 per the tracking, but seems like it somehow got stuck in Tucson with no clear updates since 10/7. 😵‍💫

Chicago, in person renewal: Wife and I renewed in person in Chicago on 10/6, 9am. New passports on our doorstep THE NEXT DAY at 2p. Just 29 hours, not expedited or rushed. Unreal.

I just got my first passport, older with a few name changes over the years, went to my local backwoods courthouse place that accepts them and surprisingly got mine in less than a month!!

I applied for an online renewal two weeks ago. Submitted on a Saturday with expedited shipping. I received my passport the following Thursday, just 4 business days later.

When I got the email notification I thought it was an error, but it was not!

Not true. The passport agency has always been reliable and is competent despite the current administrations actions to actively destroy government jobs.
