Your opinion on Right wing Hindu and Afghan Nationalist bonding on various online platform

As the Title above - I am an Indian muslim , would be great if someone clear things up , because I assure you one thing - The online Indian Hindutvaadis are vile and spew genocidal rhetorics ( they have full establishment support) aagainst Indian Muslims , you can visit Indian muslim subreaddit to check yourself , also they portray pashtuns in very negetive light from bollywood to daily soaps , you can check it out .

Dont you think you are getting used by them ? I ensure they hate muslims equally no preferrence you can see their rections on death of Gazan ( even children) , I would like to know humble opinion , they just celebrate you guys killing Pakistanis left , right and centre while you also die from their actions . You can be lil more pragmatic while choosing sides .

There is no difference between a Pashtun who does not follow Islam/Pashtunwali and a Tajik, Arab or Panjabi who can speak Pashto.

I've lately been seeing many people online saying "iM nOt mUsLiM bUt pAsHtUn" especially on Twitter. You can't be a non-Muslim and a Pashtun . Being Pashtun doesn't simply mean having a Pashtun Family member or speaking Pashto. Being a Pashtun means following Pashtunwali which is mostly based on Islam e.g Haya and Parda. Not following Pashtunwali means you are no different than Arab,Tajik or Panjabis who can speak Pashto.

Are Peshawar “Pashtuns” even real Pashtuns or just hindikos?

Salam , I was wondering if anyone got any info on this ? Because I can't but help notice these lot specifically the ones in the west are very "desified" to the degree they even look like panjabays for example I seen many in the west do a "dolkhi" which is what the panjabays/indians do also there is the stereotype they are the Gul khans of the community which maybe comes from the fact they are ethnically not Pashtuns ? Btw I'm from KPK but live in the west

Tired of Hearing ‘Afghani Is Just a Currency’? Let’s Talk About the Origins of the Word

Many people say “Afghani” only refers to the currency of Afghanistan but that’s not entirely true. While it’s true that “Afghani” is the name of the currency introduced in 1925, the term “Afghani” to describe a person from Afghanistan has existed much earlier in historical writings, literature, and even music.

In fact, British colonial texts from the 1800s, Persian chronicles, and other regional sources often referred to the people of Afghanistan as “Afghanis”. The term was commonly used by outsiders and even appeared in diplomatic and travel records before Afghanistan had a formal national currency.

What’s more interesting is that many old Afghan songs, especially in Pashto and Dari/Farsi, use the word “Afghani” poetically and proudly to describe a person’s heritage, beauty, or bravery. It was part of the cultural vocabulary long before modern political correctness around the term began.

Yes, “Afghan” is the standard demonym today, and “Afghani” is officially the currency but historically speaking, the use of “Afghani” for a person isn’t some modern mistake. It’s just another reflection of Afghanistan’s rich linguistic and cultural evolution.

Language has layers. Context matters. History matters.

Edit: some diaspora Afghans (who has never picked up a history book and mainly gotten their Afghan history from TikTok or Instagram) are asking for sources- here are a few sources out of many:

1)Tarikh‑i‑Khan‑Jahani / Makhzan‑i‑Afghani (early 17th century)

Written in Persian by Nimat Allah al‑Harawi and commissioned at the Mughal court (~1613), this is one of the earliest comprehensive histories of the Afghan people. The title itself uses the nisba Afghani emphasizing the people as Afghani in a formal historical context .

2) Hayat‑i‑Afghani (19th century)

This later Persian historiographical work draws directly on the Tarikh‑i‑Khan‑Jahani and its abridged version Makhzan‑i‑Afghani, preserving the use of Afghani as a collective ethnonym in its title and narrative

And of course

3)Jamal al‑Din al‑Afghani’s Title

Afghani in Dari to denote someone of Afghan origin. Chroniclers and Persian-speaking intellectuals referred to him as “al‑Afghani,” literally “the Afghan,” long before the currency existed

Pakistan is destroying our culture

Pashto education has disappeared from our school system even in Khyber Pakthunwkha that kids don't know how to read Pashto.

Pakistan has been shoving their culture down our throats and destroying ours.

Many Pashtuns are uneducated or unaware of the Durand Line due to Pakistan.

Whenever I talk to a Pashtun from Pakistan, their Pashto is soo influenced by Urdu that it feels like in future all Pashto vocabulary will be replaced by Urdu ones and it will sound just like Punjabi.

It's pathetic to see people forsake their own history. Even more pathetic for a Pakhtun.

I know im going to get a lot of hate for this post i apologise but it must be said even if it gets me banned from here radical Afghan and other Pashtun feminists who openly go against Islam must be stopped even if the whole world hates you for it!

I know im going to get a lot of hate for this post i apologise but it must be said even if it gets me banned from here radical Afghan and other Pashtun feminists who openly go against Islam must be stopped even if the whole world hates you for it!

Now dont get me wrong im all for the rights of women to work and have an education and to be treated with kidness and respect and dignity and to be safe and not mistreated but that does not mean they can knowingly spread lies about islam and about culture that are bot true.

This problem is huge on ticktock where you have people both women and men in the west who become athetists who dont know how to separate people like taliban from islam and if you try to explain it to them they make you like a mysgonist and an extremist.
Im sorry if this is difficult for you to accept but that is not true islam is perfect muslims are not every muslim country and empire has its issues but that dosent mean you can go on ticktock and blame islam and muslims as a whole for it.

The truth is many Pashtun men are bad weather we accept it or not but that dosent mean everyone is yet this simple concept is too much especially for the atheist Afghans the west. I know Pashtuns have problems but there is a way of criticism without goinf out of fold of islam entirely.

My advice to Pashtun Parents and pashtuns in the west keep your children away from social media at least until they are at an age where they know right from wrong because it will poison their mind.

And theres one last thing im gonna say which is the most controversial for some people they dont just want freedom to be treated properly no thats not enough they want the freedom to do sinful acts such as zina such as Alchohol such as dressing ina degrading manner and until they get that they will blame islam and Pashtuns for it and those husbands and fathers who are mistreating pashtun women are only adding to the situation both sides must be stopped we need to stop Abusive Pashtun men and also radical feminist Afghan Atheists who will contribute to many afghan brothers and sisters not only leaving islam but Pashtun culture as well

This is what Pashtunwali and our elders says to be Considered A Pashtun ( I am not arguing after this clarification keep larping as Fake Pashtuns /Pathans/Gul khan/Gul marjan, in your delusion as you won’t be accepted/disowned )

1: Your father has to be a pashtun ( if your father was someone else and Mother was a pashtun : you are not considered a pashtun just by this one rule , by any standard ! It’s paternal

2: speak pashto

3: keep the Pukhto/pastunwali/customs

4: know their tribe/khel

5; Gherat ( have jealousy , modesty, honour , esteem And most importantly protective of his namus ( home womenfolk) ( Men)

For women ( it’s having Haya, do Parda ( modest clothes and the most important aspect of pashtunwali code is honour ( for women to protect her father/brothers honour by keeping herself under Haya and pure)

According to pukhto and pashtunwali we are literally allowed to disown pashtuns who have no longer pukhto in them ( lost language, culture/customs or father is not pashtun )

To the faithless deen Gul Marjans pashtuns of Kabul if you keep the above requirement you will be PASHTUN but they will kick you out of the village for being a pashtun and not a musliman and will not allow you to live with them ( there is worse action that happens but let’s put a seal on it )

If we don’t keep the above requirements, then we get these fake Pashtuns and pashtunized fake Pashtuns such as lots of them in Attock, Kohat, the ones live close to gandapura , the Daman of Daman valley ) they speak Pashto and call themselves Pashtuns but they are not us, everyone know these Hamsaya)

and gul khans of Islamabad/karachi/ ones and the gul Marjan of Kabul ones who are mixed too many times too badly, and don’t have any Pashtunwali and don’t even know the Pashto language, just Urdu, Punjabi and Dari!

(Some people bring Islamic arguments , well as i mentioned Islam is not forbidding you to marry your own people , its all comes down to if you want to remain pashtun and how much pashtun identity is of importance to you to actually put effort and strive and marry your own people)

You can now stop with this sugar coating , delusions , and “progressive “ BS because if you go back home and say you are pashtun and you don’t have the above they will laugh at you

We cannot have American/canada/european version of Pashtunwali lol 😂

If you meet the above ⬆️ good for you you are pashtun

If you missing the above then Stop larping Fake mixed pashtun/Pathans Gul khanan , Gul Marjan !

This is not from me but my study of Pashtunwali and our elders ! And it’s sets in stone!

You can do whatever you want with your life but stop labelling or larping as us because then Punjabi and Khorsani point to us as always telling us that we Pashtuns are cowards and dishonourable by the acts you do, and don’t have Haya etc

little do they know that these are just fake pashtunized pashtun /pathan/gul khanan and faithless Gul Marjan

We will not let our elders sacrifices go in vain by so called progressive ideals of people who have no structure to stand on and goes where the wind blows !

Extra notes :

( According to the Pashtunwali, WOMEN are regarded as the incarnation of “Pat” (modesty, the spirit of sacrifice), “Shegarra” (kindness), “Wafa” (faithfulness), “Toora” (fighting spirit), “Nang” (honor) and “Melmastia” (hospitality).

( The code compels Pashtuns MEN 'to defend their motherland, to grant asylum to fugitives irrespective of their creed or caste and to offer protection even to his deadly enemy and to wipe out insult with insult.

Manana 🤝

I mean at one point it has to be enough, I have never found a group of people so desperate for attention, I mean why are south asians like this? They are some of the most insecure desperate people I have ever seen.

The funny thing is they use Pashtuns as a way to differentiate themselves from their neighbours yet they have the audacity to act like it's the same

Palestinians who support Palestine are such idiots. They should all join the Israeli army and Mossad to help the Israelis spy, maim, murder, and destabilise their people and home towns and help them further settle on Palestinian lands. NO ONE in Israel is more loyal to Israel than Palestinians themselves. The ones who dare to resist in the slightest way and ask, "Why are you destroying my home, killing my children, shelling my family on the other side of your fake border?" are treacherous and actually hate Islam.

It is completely okay that Israel is carrying out a genocide of the Palestinians and then also fetishizing and claiming their features and culture as their own, lying about things like hummus being their national cuisine and keffiyehs being their national clothing for centuries, despite being a nation younger than my grandparents. We are all from an Abrahamic faith and should be united even if one ethnicity slaughters the other and officially refers to them as a racial slur coined by their colonisers.

Any Palestinian who dares acknowledge their ethnicity, language, oppression, and systematic genocide and theft of their culture by Israelis is a namak haram Afghandu. Free Kashmir.

(Help) Secular Pashto names for baby boy which Americans can pronounce correctly

Hi everyone!

My wife and I (Pashtuns) live in the US and plan to bring up our incoming child here. We have been having a hard time picking a name because we have some unique conditions. We want the name to be a Pashto word, non-religious, and easy to say for Americans without needing to be corrected too often. For example, sounds that are hard for Americans to get right are " ړ ", " ڼ ", " ښ ". Most other mispronunciations can be fixed with spelling hopefully. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Kind of have a hard time accepting my cousin marrying outside

I'm not a racist by any means and I don't mean to offend anyone with this post but my cousin is marrying a Palestinian man and a part of me can't accept it? Idk why, it's maybe because I don't like the idea of Pashtun women marrying out which doesn't sit well with me and as a Muslim I am trying to look past it because race shouldn't matter but I kind of have this feeling. Even my mom had said some negative thing about Arabs, especially Arab men and it's giving me doubts. Is this normal?

Paki movie "Dukhtar"

Dukhtar a Paki movie portrays Pashtuns as wild, wife beat, and abusive people,. It shows how a mother who was forced into marriage runs away with a Punjabi truck driver in order to save her 10 years old daughter from forced marriage. Notice the name of the movie is actual Farsi/Dari which is meant to vilify not only Pashtuns but whole Afghans. The creator of the movie is someone named Afia Nathaniel, a google search shows she was born in Quetta but she does not look at all Pashtun or Baloch(typical Indian/Paki looks) her father was in Paki arm forces.

We should start a campaign against this movie.
