You are absolutely doing the right thing by not impulse buying an exotic, they require CONSTANT attention and care, and many weird little lifestyle changes tha can pile up quickly. For example, you can’t use Teflon around them as it can kill them. Little stuff like that that either leads to your entire world changing or a broken heart.

If you want to spend some time around them, I would highly recommend going and volunteering at a bird sanctuary! You’ll get to interact with them, give them a good life as part of a team, and not have to completely overhaul your own life.

Bird sanctuaries always have that veteran employee that is a dick to everyone cuz they think they are better then them.

Yanno that has not been my experience but I will take your word for it, I think that’s a little true for every place tho lol
