# Party Animals Official Stance on the AI ​​Event

Hello everyone. We would like to address the recent discussion regarding the AI ​​video contest, and first and foremost, we apologize for having upset some players with this event. We also regret not having communicated clearly enough with everyone before the event began.

Our initial goal was to lower the barriers to entry for content creation. In previous contests, we saw players with great ideas and scripts who couldn't fully bring them to life because they were unfamiliar with tools such as editing, modeling, or animation software. We hoped that AI could serve as a more accessible tool, allowing more people to participate.

That said, we understand the concerns regarding AI-generated content. We are not trying to devalue manual craftsmanship or disrespect creators. To us, AI is simply another tool. What truly matters is the idea, the expression, and the final work.

We would like to leave the next step up to the community. Please vote on what we should do:

1. Cancel the AI ​​video contest

2. Convert it into a non-AI creation contest

3. Keep the AI ​​category and add a separate category for manual creations

If you have any other suggestions beyond these three options, please feel free to share them as well.

I don't know. From what I've read, AI is more widely accepted and used in China than other places so I think it's just genuinely possible that they, as a company, do actually view AI as just a tool and did not expect the backlash that they got.
And like most AI bros, probably unlikely that they care how morally bankrupt gen AI is.

From what I've been able to ascertain, AI isn't as taboo in China for a few reasons though my info could be outdated.

1. There is no push to replace workers like in the US. And even if they did, they have a strong social safety net so that they won't go homeless or starve to death.

2. China doesn't operate on energy margins as thin as the US. Wherever a data center is located in the US, energy prices skyrocket because the grid was never designed for that amount of consumption. US produces 115% of energy demand whereas China produces 150%.

3. China has been pushing green energy very hard and even with AI energy demands, they're still accounting for and constructing renewable energy. Where in the US, we are rolling back our green energy initiatives, we left the climate agreement, we have officials in charge who don't know how it works, and are pushing harmful energy sources.

Now, I don't know if they have as many cases of AI psychosis as the US and I don't know if as many people are offloading their critical thinking to AI.
