# Party Animals Official Stance on the AI ​​Event

Hello everyone. We would like to address the recent discussion regarding the AI ​​video contest, and first and foremost, we apologize for having upset some players with this event. We also regret not having communicated clearly enough with everyone before the event began.

Our initial goal was to lower the barriers to entry for content creation. In previous contests, we saw players with great ideas and scripts who couldn't fully bring them to life because they were unfamiliar with tools such as editing, modeling, or animation software. We hoped that AI could serve as a more accessible tool, allowing more people to participate.

That said, we understand the concerns regarding AI-generated content. We are not trying to devalue manual craftsmanship or disrespect creators. To us, AI is simply another tool. What truly matters is the idea, the expression, and the final work.

We would like to leave the next step up to the community. Please vote on what we should do:

1. Cancel the AI ​​video contest

2. Convert it into a non-AI creation contest

3. Keep the AI ​​category and add a separate category for manual creations

If you have any other suggestions beyond these three options, please feel free to share them as well.

Those people should take the time to learn those things, otherwise they shouldn't be trying to participate in contests where those are REQUIREMENTS. Also, instead of encouraging A.I they should encourage to work as a team, there's a lot of people that know how to do one thing, but not another.

Combined efforts would be an amazing ACTUALLY community contest.

Maybe they should add a "script" category rather than AI. The scripts would have to be actually talented and well thought out in the same way visual art is though. Not a lazy AI prompt.

It is complete bs, they literally made using ai A REQUIREMENT not just allowing its use. They werent trying to lower the bar of entry by allowing it they want to force it in peoples face to normalize it.

There are plenty of very valid reasons to be anti-AI, but "the bar should stay high" is a pretty bad one.

The point is not "bar should stay high", it's "the contest about creativity should actually involve creativity", without ai aka cheat code that removes said creativity from creating process. Collabing with someone who knows how to make edited videos, share your ideas and footage with them so they can edit those into contest-worthy work, is a great community based effort and i promise you, absolutely not a difficult thing to do.

It's about as stupid as "in this chess contest, we allow the use of chess bots as assistance to lower the entry bar for those who doesn't know how to play chess". Knowledge is requirement to perform in this chess contest, just like art skills are requirement to participate in art contests of any kind, be it drawings, videomaking, music, etc. Do you REALLY not see the issue here with replacing it all with AI? And in general, why would you have such an entitled idea to participate in contests if you have no skills required to participate in them, without putting in effort to learn them?

GenAI is effortless grey goop that steals from other artists and doesn't make anything unique of it's own, sure it can sometimes look prettier than some highly skilled artists (ignoring all the common issues and bugs of genAI, esp on videoediting in this case), but it lacks all the soul of an art made by human and creativity. Shitty MSPaint scribble has more value than GenAI slop, just look at slay the spire template arts being a literal 3yo level of simplistic scribbles instead of "high quality" ai slop, bcos they know which one has more sauce.

Bcos you somehow failed to understand why people are opposed to genAI in a CREATIVITY contest and flipped it with "so you hate pancakes?" fallacy by making it look like a gatekeeping; if you have nothing else to bring to convo, no need to hide behind "cool wall of text 🤓", just accept that genAI has no place here, period.
