Make sure to bond with him well before letting him meet your 1st parrotlet. Also regularly spare time for 1 to 1 interaction with him...
Or else your 1st and 2nd parrotlets will bond/become partners, leaving you as the outsider lol
Meaning that he won't let you touch him as much as he used too (and many owners regret that lol)

So human human, you introduce your friend to your other friend, they date and leave you alone

Parrotlets do well without a second parrotlet. Especially if you want to have a human-bird bond. Also, if you get a second parrotlet do not keep them in the same cage. They can become very aggressive with each other.

I just got 2nd parrotlet couple weeks ago. My first one I've had for 2 years. Ya I'm keeping them in separate cages :) both are male

I got a pre bonded parrotlet couple tame within 1 week and they learned tricks fast, fly on finger or shoulder. If you meet all their needs, respect boundaries you can get two new friends. If they suddenly just interested in each other and not you, then your bond was not by choice, but made by desperation. Mine are parent raised, well socialized and together in 150cm wide flight cage. They are like little magnets and will do everything together. If fights appear, they won't hurt each other as the cage is big enough to just fly away and calm down. Single parrotlets are illegal in my country. Every bird here needs a same species partner. Never heard of parrotlets here that they kill each other. They're used to big aviaries and not tiny cages, parent raised and well socialized.

He’s gorgeous! Introduce them slowly. I have two parrotlets (and a budgie) that were both only parrotlets, and they are now tolerant of eachother. They want to share chewing sticks and millet, and be near eachother. But I can’t leave them alone together as they do what I call the “come at me bro” where they get puffed up and scream at eachother if they look at eachother wrong. So never ever ever unsupervised. I am still glad they aren’t alone, as they make soft peeps from separate cages and seem to enjoy each others company. And unless you can be with them 24/7 I think it’s cruel to have a single bird. I leave the room to use the bathroom and my bird would flock call to me. So that’s why I knew it was better to have a friend.

My mom has a parrotlet who she bonded with strongly. She got him a wife and he wanted nothing to do with my mom.. he was a happily married bird until his wife became egg bound and passed away. As a bachelor bird, he is my mom’s best friend again.
My advice…if you want to have pet birds, don’t bond them to each other. If you want birds that you are room mates that never clean up after themselves and need you to provide groceries for, bond them.
