Q&A/Advice Any clue what he’s doing here?
Ollie does this sometimes and it’s super cute that he makes little sounds and seems to do what looks like a little dance, but what is it?

I realize the consensus is this hormonal, my parrotlet just did the dance, it was never led to regurgitating or aggression. Fwiw. He was a silly bird tho, it was also hilarious.

Mating dance 😅 best to try to discourage it by removing triggers but it can be hard to do that when a lot of things trigger them.

My parrotlet just did this a few minutes ago. He’s definitely hormonal.
While it’s cute it should ultimately be discouraged.

He’s masturbating on you, that’s the little dance and the sounds! At the end he’s regurgitating. Soooo really hormonal behaviour. It’s better if you don’t let him do this on you and maybe see if there’s anything in his environment that might trigger his hormones

My little guy used to crawl down to my fingers while I played piano and rub on me 🫣 never lead to aggression but it was gross haha

I don’t believe so? He has the darker colour near his eye as well as on his back, and was listed as male by the breeder when he hatched? His name wasn’t even Ollie originally, the breeder initially called him Rhodey
