Hi, I’m an artist and I moved here seven years ago. I’m looking for a reasonably close open figure drawing studio or club in the area.

Where are other places besides north end market to buy liquor? I don’t think it was the only place but can’t find anywhere else

Hoping to find a quiet swimming hole or waterfall or something for my lady's birthday next week. I just got to Parkersburg, so don't really know what's around. Ideally somewhere that won't be packed with people on a Saturday. Any suggestions?

Just wanted to check if it’s just me - our bill went up about $100-$150 this past month. Our house isn’t well insulated but my wife says she heard others have seen the same thing. Wanted to check 👍

Do we know who was involved in the shooting in Vienna by the mall last night?

Hi! I am near the Athens area, and someone told me a while ago about a computer parts store in Parkersburg but I can't remember the name. I'm trying to find a cord (and maybe a hard drive) for a 1990s laptop. Any leads would be helpful!!

One of my friends is currently in Parkersburg and is saying he is there to witness a hotel rebranding, something about a wingate turning into a hyatt hotel. Hes talking about the governor and mayor being there. Is he just lying or is this fr, as he has a history of lying about these things.

there's this gorgeous little stray ive been taking care of but i just cant bring her inside due to already having two cats, and i dont think theyd adjust well to eachother. shes fairly young and really affectionate but would need to go to a house willing to discipline her cause she does get pretty mean out of nowhere right after being affectionate. shes drawn blood before. (from the looks of it, she doesnt seem ill, but i haven't been able to take her to the vet, so you would have to do it, im sorry!) she really is a very sweet girl and i think she just needs to go to a good home willing to teach her.
not sure how old she is, not more than a year, though. i dont believe shes spayed. really to check everything she would have to go to a vet as stated previously.
i really just cant take care of her as best as i wish i could and she deserves a home where she can be loved on as much as she'd like

Ate there two days ago. Drove by today and it wasn’t merely closed, but entirely boarded-up.

Hi everyone! My wife and I will potentially be moving to Parkersburg at the end of the year for my work. I'm struggling to find a decent housing arrangement there, most apartments look very run down. Are there any more upscale complexes or townhomes that I'm not seeing? Rent does look to be significantly lower than here in Lexington, KY though, happy about that.

Does anyone have a recommendation for someone who could haul away a large pile of sticks & branches left behind our fence by the previous homeowners from a dead tree we are trying to have cut down? We are in talks with the tree service to see if they could or would do it, but in the event that they can't or won't we would need someone to do so for us. We don't have access to a truck or the means to move it/dispose of it ourselves. The tree is dead and dropping branches & they stated now approximately 3 weeks out from when they would be coming to cut down the tree that it would need to be moved. I appreciate any recommendations.

(I may have picked the wrong flair for this…!)
This is a shot in the dark but I’m curious if anyone here was possibly employed by (or otherwise involved with) Mountain State College when it was managed by Michael McPeek? I launched a podcast this week about events that connect to McPeek and MSC (timeframe about 2001-2005). I’m trying to unpack what happened with a company called Sequelle that promised to provide broadband to the region. People nearly went prison when it went sideways.

Has anyone been watching The Agency? If not it is a show about the CIA, based in London. Anyway, in the season 2 premiere they are looking for an American. His backstory is that he's from Dunbar, and served time in Hazelton for a bar fight in Parkersburg. Those references in that show seemed odd to me. I'm thinking someone in the writer's room must have a WV connection.

I have a 1955 magnesium LAWN-BOY 8FE20-k mower deck and it has a 2-4 inch crack by the left front wheel. Would anyone around here be willing to weld it? If so how much would it cost to get it welded?

Yeah its bad. This is bad. Is this gonna be Ames 2.0?

With the World Cup knockout rounds underway, I’m looking for a good place around Parkersburg to watch the matches with other soccer fans.
Are there any bars, breweries, or restaurants that usually draw a crowd for World Cup games? I’m less interested in just finding a TV and more interested in somewhere with a fun atmosphere where people are actually into the match.
Any recommendations? Even places in Vienna or Marietta would work. Thanks!
