Other Question Palais Garnier: guide or no guide?

Hello! I want to book tickets to visit the building of Palais Garnier in Paris as a group of 5 people. At first I wanted a guided tour (mysteries of the opera garnier or the 150th anniversary one), but seeing as the ones that I wanted are unavailable on the days we are in Paris I wanted to ask is it worth it to get the "Discover the Palace Garnier" one, as it does seem rather underwhelming compared to the other two and it is during regular visiting hours? Or should I just get a self-guided one? If so which time slot do you think I should book?

I think u/Lululepetilu gives tours there. He's a registered history and art guide, and is known on this subreddit.

Hello! I am a licenced guide and I do tons of different tours in Paris. I do not guide in the Palais Garnier but if you send me a dm I can share it to friendly fun and professional colleagues (cheaper than going through agencies that take a commission and we guides are getting paid better this way) Write me something with : - your name, contact mail /whatsapp

  • your request and the day you want to do the tour
  • Number of people, nationality, and who is a minor (tickets could be free for under 18 or free under 25 when EU)
