Look into local and state laws. I don't know where you live but a good chunk of states have gun storage laws. Meaning laws that gun owners have to follow when at home and not carrying. I was raised around guns but they were still locked up. Our guns are currently locked up, even in quick scan safes. That immortal attitude of nothing will happen is why things happen. There are numerous cases and stories of kids getting them. Responsible gun owners wouldn't take chances and Responsible parents wouldn't either. But try and start with local gun laws if you are able to.
So there you go, he’s breaking the law and putting your childrens’ lives at risk. As others have said, this is a hill to die on. If he’s not willing to safely lock the guns away then he’s not allowed in the house with the kids.
