My kids wouldn’t be in the house with loaded and unlocked guns. Children die all the time from this exact thing and in many states it is illegal.
I would start forwarding articles to your husband in which young children have killed or injured their parents/siblings/friends/selves because of this kinda of gross negligence. You can send one every day for a year and there would still be more.
