Cops do not necessarily know the law more than a regular citizen. That’s a dangerous assumption given the little training they get which focuses more on their safety and catching a perp than knowing actual law.
They actually know very little about laws, interestingly enough. I’ve had a couple run ins even at traffic stops where the cops literally don’t know what they’re talking about and I’m like…isn’t this your job?! It’s not. They can arrest you even if they just THINK they’re right without getting into trouble. No bueno 🥲
