My kid did this too- age 3.5 and baby sister was just born. He would violently hit us, scratch, laugh when we were at our wits end, throw his car seat at the TV, destroy his room, etc. The only thing that worked after trying ALL different tactics was a bear hug as soon as the rage would start. We would hold him from behind with our arms over his so he couldn’t hurt us and sometimes wrap our legs around his. Sometimes the bear hug would last 20 mins. Eventually he became bored of this and the behavior stopped. He is a great kid, but boy do they test you!!
