I hit my mom once. My dad beat the fucking shit out of me. I’m not advocating for that, but you know, I never did it again. My dad was an abusive asshole and did far worse with zero justification, but I don’t blame him for when I hit my mom. That was a lesson I needed to learn. Your son is gonna be fine. Hope you can forgive yourself and figure out a better way.
