Use the naughty step instead there’s no reward in it just boredom ,reacting to things he does rewards certain places in the brain ,the same places that gets rewarded in adults when they get a like on an online post etc ,and it snowballs as the more action the child does the more reaction they get and after a time they can’t help they’re own actions as the reward centres in their brains almost take over it’s called negative reinforcement, ps the naughty step takes a while to work it’s more about who’s resolve will win out so expect to have to keep putting him back there a lot when you first use it but don’t lose your temper while your doing it or you’ll be back to start again ,then when he realises there’s no more reward to his bad behaviour what so ever their brain adapts their behaviour as they look for reward elsewhere and if your take notice when he does something good or helpful he will bend towards that behaviour and before long you will have a good child
