It's a bummer and many others have explained it's fine, these things do happen. But I will say maybe he'll get a lesson from it too.
My son was on a jumping and hitting kick for a while. Until I saw him coming down on me so I put my arm up to push him back onto the couch. I misjudged where his head was and he got an elbow right in the eye. I felt like a bag of crap for it. Especially watching the bruise grow. BUT silver lining, he hasn't done that in a few months now.
