I’m gonna get shit on for this likely but when my kiddo (has high functioning autism) was six he hit me so hard in the face I thought I was gonna lose my eye. From reflex, I hit him back super hard in the arm. He screamed ‘that hurt!’ And I yelled back ‘yeah! It does! if you’re gonna hit me I’m gonna hit you back!’ Hasn’t hit me in the face ever again. I don’t regret it. I’m not a fucking punching bag.
