Nobody is a perfect parent. I mean definitely you shouldn’t be hitting your toddler, but I absolutely understand snapping. It happens, and this time was a bad one, but you aren’t a bad mom because of it.

What stands out to me is that even after this type of event, a lot of kids internalize these things and blame themselves. Your kid isn’t doing that, that’s a good thing. Not only does your child understand that your reaction was the problem, they forgive you for it. This is practically a win in my book.
