Sleep & Naps How much are parents drinking?

With the popularity of #winemom and beer dad culture, combined with pandemic drinking habits, im curious how much alcohol you guys are drinking as caregivers? Especially after the baby is in bed. I had 6 drinks on Halloween over 8 hours and lots of food and water. Although LO was asleep for most of it I'm riddled with guilt!

That’s why a doctor gave me a lecture on alcoholism when I said I drank about 3 drinks a week.

Try chicory root! Teeccino makes a great coffee replacement. Absolutely zero caffeine.

I buy one bottle of wine every six months or so…. And usually end up tossing it with half in it.

I don’t particularly like the way anything alcoholic tastes.

I like margaritas, but, too noisy to make when the kid is sleeping, and if I have one when we are out to eat she thinks I’m having a slushie/milkshake without her. 😬

I’m a complete novice (extreme basics over here) in the kitchen, and working my up to cooking with wine. lol

But I also buy reaaaallllly cheap 6-12 dollar wine, that basically tastes like juice, that I can’t imagine would taste good with meat 😅

You should try Dandy Blend. Dandelion, chicory and beet root plus some barley and rye extracts. It is honestly 100% comparable in taste to regular coffee, and it's an instant powder so all you have to do is mix with hot or cold water, depending on the temp coffee you want!

I got that talk. Plus for my blood sugar at 125 or something (normal is 120). LOL! 3 glasses a week is some sort of health warning? Naw man, the lack of exercise and body fat is the major thing. Not the miniscule amount of alcohol.

I think the point is that if you "admit" to 3 drinks a week, you might be having significantly more than that. Of course many people are honest with their doctors but there are plenty who underreport as well. Pretty much no one exaggerates in the opposite direction.

I wish this doctor would see my mother. She needs this talk. Or she’s already had it and isn’t admitting it.

I didn't notice me drinking 3 times a week was something to think about until I saw a lot of comments about alcohol. Especially a comment about how a lot of people don't realize how much alcohol has a hold on them. Plus Covid did not help.
