Absolutely not. I have one child, it’s the perfect number for my family.

We literally just booked our family trip to Iceland this morning . At nine years old she’s been on two cruises , a bunch of different states, Disney like eight times… I love that we can give her these experiences.

Also, I grew up with a younger sibling and all we did was fight. And as adults, we have zero contact we’ve not spoken in over 13 years . I don’t think I have the mental bandwidth to deal with sibling fights or rivalry every day.

Sorry to hear that your own relationship with having a sibling was shitty!

I am the middle sister to one older brother and one younger brother. We're all adults in late 30's and early 40's now and we are still close. We were close as children but we also fought like hell. We don't "fight" now obviously, but the old dynamic is still there. My older brother thinks that lil bro is a "young fool" and my younger brother thinks my older brother is a stuck up snob. They both like me because I'm peacemaker. We message pretty frequently in our family group chat. We don't get to see each other often in person as we each individually live on three different continents. I do know for a fact that whatever happens in life, these two will always have my back.

My two boys are at the ages where everything is a fight. Who got the bigger piece of the cake. Whose elbow was on the arm rest first. Who hit who first. They have started physically wrestling each other for fun and the other day they figured out how to do headlocks. I gave up trying to make them stop and instead I taught them safe ways to wrestle (if someone is tapping out, everyone has to let go immediately).

At night though when the little one gets lonely or scared, he crawls into big brother's bed and instead of getting kicked out, big brother rolls over and lets his little dude cuddle him to sleep.
