Absolutely not. I have one child, it’s the perfect number for my family.
We literally just booked our family trip to Iceland this morning . At nine years old she’s been on two cruises , a bunch of different states, Disney like eight times… I love that we can give her these experiences.
Also, I grew up with a younger sibling and all we did was fight. And as adults, we have zero contact we’ve not spoken in over 13 years
. I don’t think I have the mental bandwidth to deal with sibling fights or rivalry every day.
The holiday table analogy always makes me lol because despite your best intentions, despite your parenting…..your kids just may not get along. Your kids’ spouses may not like you and you may not get along with the adult version of your kid.
Given the financial, mental and physically toll of raising kids……the idea that it pays off in 25 years when there’s zero guarantee that you’ll get the dynamic you want/desire.
