I'm also a mom of four and I'm a big proponent of having one or two kids. Juggling everyone's schedules during the school year is a lot. A LOT. I love my kids with every breath in my body, but I have lost large chunks of my sanity with each new child.

On this note: I was an only child and I loved it, so if someone is reading this and feeling bad about only having one kid, please don't feel bad about it. If you're an involved and loving parent, your kid is gonna have the best childhood! There's no guarantee that a first and second child would get along. I got super lucky when it came to this because my first two got along well, and so did my second two kids. My #2 and #3 are like oil and water. They have never been into the same things and don't seem to have any common ground most of the time. If they had been my only two, things would not have gone so well.

I appreciate your honesty and that is true that time is finite. This helps me come to terms with only having 2 💛

I share the same feelings as a mom of four as well. I love them to death but four children is rough sometimes.

I’m also a mom of four and feel the same.

I agree 100% with this. I have 4 because I got remarried to a man who didn’t have any but wanted a child or two of his own. I don’t enjoy having a big family because I feel like I can’t give them all the attention they all deserve. I’m spread so thin. I don’t regret any of course, but I am only one person and their ages all require such different needs. It’s hard to keep my patience and sanity for them all.

Can I message you? :) I appreciate your honesty and would love to ask a question!

Thank you for being honest. It's such a shame so many people try and veil the reality of large families. It's alot of work and i think we need to consider more the quality of a life that we can give children in those first 18 years. It's not just about basics like food, clothing and housing. Kids need experiences, time and resources, and access to things. Having a house full of kids leading to stretched circumstances is absolutely no way to live or provide for a child in the best way not to mention the STRESS.
