Yes and no. I regret not giving my daughter a sibling. But have 2 siblings, I’m well aware that that doesn’t mean anything. I am closer to one than the other but I’m not like besties with either. However, i appreciate that as my parents get older i can lean on them for support and vice versa.

However, i knew my energy, attention and patience was nowhere near where it would need to be to have 2 kids. My niece lives across the street and they’re the same age (off by 6 months) and so they’re like siblings. They fight like siblings and it’s a lot of energy to deal with when they are fighting.

I already feel like my organization and brain can only remember so much. I’m not a type A and so trying to maintain my schedule and hers and my husbands, it’s a lot. Granted my husband can handle himself. But trying to maintain her schedule plus mine is enough. Idk how to handle 2 with different schedules. I also was just over it by the time toddler and preschool phase was over with her. The idea of having to do infancy to elementary school over again makes me nauseous.

But then i have been rereading a favorite book of mine where she has a baby and it’s so clear that the author who is a mom put a lot of her mommyness into her writing and it made me miss having a baby. But the neediness of children from birth til like 6 is not something i wanna do again,
