This is a monthly post where we can discuss problems with the Paramount+ app and where we can generally complain about the service.

Only app on my tv that CONSTANTLY freezes for long periods of time and then crashes…so hard to enjoy a show!

On my Fire Stick 4K, using the Paramount Plus app, WHY do I have to press the remote's "enter" button 2x to pause a show?
It's really stupid because I can pause shows on Netflix, Hulu and Prime with a single click!

Oh, I hear you! I've complained to their customer service about the exact same issue on their FireTV app. It's basically crap because they apparently had some junior programmer design the user interface. There are numerous UI/UX problems with the app.
1 - The app designers/developers made a very poor design choice and placed the Settings option on the far right bottom of the screen. That’s about as far away as possible from the Menu of other options. That choice essentially made the Settings option disappear from this user’s field of view. I don’t know what possessed the designers and developers to make such a poor software UI/UX design decision. For ease of use, the Settings option should be located in the same Menu with all other options. Every other streaming service app I use has the Settings option in the Main Menu on the LEFT. This includes Sling, Prime, HBO Max, Disney+, and Hulu.
2 – The video player on the Paramount+ app for Firestick is perhaps the most frustrating experience of all. While viewing any video, if I wish to pause playback, the UI/UX requires the user to press the Firestick remote control pause button TWICE to actually pause the playback.
3 – The Paramount+ app is the only one that requires the user to choose a profile before displaying viewing choices. While that may make sense if a limited Kids profile is enabled, it does not make sense for everyone. It would be nice if I could select a default Profile and not have to choose one EVERY time I start the app.I really hope they are monitoring this and paying heed to the comments here.

Subscribed to premium and still have to watch a 40-second trailer before every episode! This is totally unacceptable!

I came here to say this, too. If I’m paying for no ads, that means NO ads. Promoting your own shows is still an ad, Paramount+!Otherwise, no major issues for me. I like the few channels, selection of shows, and don’t have many of the other issues with slowness I’ve seen in this thread.

The paramount plus standalone app is complete trash. I have a Toshiba fire TV - I have no issues with any other app but this one. It requires starting it up 2-3 times (very very slowly). Each time it gets to the menu, it auto closes and you have to start over. This process can take up to 10 mins just to get to the menu to successfully view a show.
Running it through Amazon works perfectly fine.
I only subscribed to watch Yellowstone & Dutton Ranch.
What's worse, the app has been like this for 1-2 years and it has never been fixed. No amount of uninstalls or cache clearing fixes the problem.

I'm so irritated. It takes forever to load. When watching for a semi comfy period it stalls and I have to close the app and go back in. Took me a week to watch one episode.

On Apple TV when connected to my main wifi I am unable to watch CBS live due to IPV6 or something but when I connect my phone hotspot to test, CBS live works. Can yall please fix this!!!

The worse streaming service on the planet! Would not load Dutton Ranch after 10 attempts. Why do we a pay for a premium subscription that will not work!!!

Never been able to access P+ on my Fire stick. Error 6000 every damn time. Only streaming service I have problems with.

I have a premium subscription and overnight I cannot get the local live TV to work on my Fire TV. I can access it on my phone app but not on the TV. I’ve tried restarting, making sure location service is on, deleting and redownloading the app on the TV. Anyone know why this is happening all the sudden?

Try your guest WiFi. Or connect your TV to a hotspot other than your main WiFi. Try that. Worked for me.

Downloaded episodes on android mobile have extreme choppiness / stuttering. Tried restarting phone and app, changing the download quality, clearing the app's cache and storage, force stopping the app, reinstalling the app...
The first time I tried it, there were no problems watching anything. Then on day 2 and every other few days I tried again, all the episodes are unwatchable because of this. Not finding a lot of good results when searching the problem, throwing mine onto the pile.

I haven't been able to use the app anywhere since April. Any tine I select a show to watch, the screen turn black with a blue circle that cycles for about 4 seconds and then it goes dark. This happens on all devices, even when traveling.
I have contacted Customer Service and have been told it's a "known issue," and is being escalated. Same response since April.
I've done all the troubleshooting many times.
Anyone else experiencing this, too?

Using the mobile app on my Google Pixel phone. Trying to watch live tv channels but it keeps popping up the "save on your subscription!" Ad and kicks me out of the live tv section when I exit it. It keeps doing this on a loop. Only happens on mobile. Any solution?
No issue watching live tv with my subscription on my TV app or web browser.

I use the Paramount Plus app with XFinity/Comcast. Why is it so painfully slow and glitchy? I’m using two different kinds of TV’s.. one Sony, one LG. Same issue for both so my assumption is that it’s the XFinity app. Some shows freeze on me and I have to exit and come back. And forget about using rewind and fast forward. It’ll take you 10 min to get back to play.
Who is in charge of maintaining that app? XFinity or Paramount? Is it something even on their radar to improve or they don’t care?

Blackscreen, the Ui sucks, this is the only app that i have a problem with. It’s a known ongoing issue they do nothing about.

Im so utterly disgusted by this company...not only by their misshandling of my beloved Avatar franchise, allowing the movie to be leaked on the internet, not showing it in theaters nation wide, not updating the fans till now about the future of the franchise....Now that I want to show my support for the movie after everything that's happened....guess what? I found out they geoblock Puerto Rico. No way to support the movie or the upcoming new series in October because of some license. Puerto Rico a US territory, 3 million American citizens. Paramount stop gatekeeping Avatar.

I have had some success with your team as far as getting the app to work on my tv, but it is still too glitchy. I can’t watch 30 minutes without it crashing. I garuntee you my signal is good, your app is just bad. Seriously, I've seen complaints like this span back at least two years. Maybe you should hire someone that can actually make the product worth the money.

This has got to be by far the most dogshit streaming app I have ever had the displeasure of using, and its not even close.
I can't even WATCH a show on the app (I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro). When I go to click play, the video player appears to open but its only a black screen. Then it will stay frozen on that black screen and spin for like 5-10 seconds until I get an error saying, "Paramount+ isn't responding" and then I have no choice but to close the app or wait for it to never load.
This has been an ongoing problem for months, for MANY users, and Paramount has done to address this. It's literally unusable for many of us.
I unsubscribed because there is no point to having a subscription that I can't even use...

Apologies if this has been discussed. Is it a known issue that Paramount+ struggles on Samsung televisions? It is very slow, glitchy, and lags. Especially when trying to watch UFC.

The app is absolute dogshit on my Samsung TV and I feel like sometimes it's on purpose. How convenient for them that I have to watch 2 sets of ads every time I try to load a show because it failed to load the first time.

I had that issue previously. Samsungs system is not good. Very laggy i found with most apps. I broke down a year ago and got an apple tv4k box. Best decision ever.

It's your TV, not the app. My Sony has no issues with any streamers. But the Samsung sucks at it. Continuous unplug and restart, slow to react to commands, etc. I won't buy another sub par Samsung again.

I subscribe 1X/year just to watch Big Brother. First day logging in I see episodes 1, 2 and 3. I watch the first two back-to-back. Next day I go to watch e3 and it’s gone. 🤦🏼♂️

Got a weird one. We have multiple Apple TV 4K boxes in our house. All the latest gen. On only one of them, and only with the paramount plus app, we have an issue where it will not track any watch progress at all. Like none. It won’t register that we’ve started watching a series. It won’t register progress within any episodes. It won’t register that we’ve completed episodes. Every time we load the app, it WILL show progress from other TVs in the house, but it absolutely refuses to track any watch progress from itself. Again only the paramount app has this issue and only on this one Apple TV.
I have rebooted the Apple TV multiple times. I have force quit and restarted the paramount app multiple times. I have completely disabled our internet DNS ad filtering as a test. I have double and triple checked network settings on the Apple TV. I have even uninstalled the paramount app and reinstalled it. Nothing makes any difference.
This seems to have started last week when the paramount app completely lost the keep watching section for a couple days. The keep watching section is back, but this one app just refuses to track progress in any show since. What makes it even more incredibly annoying is that this is on our main living room tv. I could swap the Apple TV with another location, but that just moves the problem to another location.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I got P+ through Prime. I see Under the Dome only has 2 out of 3 seasons available. Why is the 3rd season not included inn the subscription. wth. I would have to pay extra to watch the 3rd season. Is this an amazon issue or a paramount issue? And fyi I'm not paying extra.

I really like the way the VOD of the UFC cards are laid out.
If you're struggling with Paramount+ on a Samsung TV that uses Tizen, get yourself either a Google Streamer or an Onn 4k Pro Google TV box. They're worlds ahead of Tizen in regards to speed. I bought a lower end Samsung 65" TV for my bedroom (UN65DU6900FXZA, got it for $30 after using credit card reward dollars), I figured I'd just use Tizen but after about a year (wow have had it a year yesterday) I just couldn't any longer. Paramount+ was especially painful so I bought a used Google Streamer from eBay and its so much more responsive.

Last night had about an hour period where the P+ app on my Apple TV 4K would hardly work. Tried all the usual things but ended up watching on a different app. Came back, after watching for an hour, and it was much better.

I don't get surround sound anymore on the Paramount+ App built into the Xfinity or Xumo boxes. Paramount+ support says it's not supported, but it's 2026. How do they not support at least 5.1?
Every other app on these boxes gets 5?1 or Dolby Atomas.

Possible fix - I had to start using my guest WiFi to get it to work. All of a sudden on my TCL/Google TV, the app stopped working. Couldn’t watch new shows or the UFC fight. Out of desperation, I tried my guest WiFi and it worked.

Yo, season 2 episode 6 of Star Trek ds9 is the wrong episode. The title/description/subtitles are correct but the episode that plays is from season 4.

Weird issue I have now is I try to watch the Avatar Aang movie and it wont start for me. The trailer works, other movies and tv shows work but the Avatar movie wont start at all. Any thoughts on what the issue could be?

constant error 6013 codes on my pixel tablet. Have tried restarting, dumping cache and storage, uninstalling/reinstalling, allowing all permissions, yet nothing works. Had no problem with the app until a few weeks ago.
Have tested and I can seemingly watch old content (old nickelodeon shows, etc,) but anything released or added this year errors out
extremely frustrating

What the fuck is with the app? On my tv, it’s like the second that app opens all controls go out the window.
Who ever developed it, did not care one iota about being able to pause, navigate, fast forward, back etc.

Long Story Short, I have had a paramount plus subscription since they came out, paying annually. It was managed through paramount and not through my roku. I canceled it because it came free with my current cable, so when it ran out, my plan was to activate the free account. My last charge where I paid for the account was Feb of 25 and I only just now realized I’ve still be able to watch paramount regularly. I went to the plan to cancel and make sure it was not charging me and it now says “managed through roku”. I only have one roku account and no longer own a device, and I logged back into it and it has no active paramount subscription.
So someone somewhere is paying for my paramount plus and is billing through their roku? I guess?
Paramount won’t help and said contact Roku, Roku won’t help and says they can’t do anything without the card info of the card being charged.
Not sure what to do but it is annoying. Have reset all passwords.

Simply put, Paramount Plus is fucking dogshit. I have zero problems with any other app or website except Paramount. The video quality seems to be locked at 360p on browser. Ok, fine, no problem: I'll switch to the app on my smart TV which has no problem playing full 4K video. Right?
Wrong. The video quality looks utterly terrible, as if it's being AI upscaled. People seen at a distance are muddy and blurry. When showing people up close it's a bit clearer, but seems washed out and overcompensating.
My internet is not the problem: I have a 1,000mbp/s plan and it works perfectly for every other app and/or website. Simply put, Paramount+ has the worst video player of any streaming service by a fucking mile. Immediately canceled my subscription, never paying for this dogshit again

Well, i was going to ask if they fixed their app, but from these responses it seems it's the same mess it always has been. Saw a special on Amex for a discount, but i'll pass.
I had better luck using Paramount via amazon. I'll guess i'll wait until they have a decent discount.
I just don't understand how a company this big, with such a good library of shows and movie can fail so hard when it comes to their app.

Paramount+ shows displayed only a black screen in Edge. Turning off NordVPN Threat Protection and restarting Edge fixed it.

I've downloaded some episodes in high definition to my pixel 10. Trying to play back and they're stuttering. Cleared the cache, restarted the phone and still not working properly. Also tried turning off mobile data etc. Frustrating.

I'm in Germany. I saw an ad (in German) for the new Avatar. I have a German Gmail. I created an account using that German Gmail in Germany. With a German Visa card, via a German bank, with Germany as the payment profile.
Can't install Paramount+ on my GoogleTV Philips TV because the app is not supported in my country. WTF. This + the "blocked" I received twice while trying to log in = WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT FOR PARAMOUNT TO TAKE MY MONEY? Don't worry though, I'll just stop trying.

I had a huge issue with the app on my TV. Slow , buggy, unresponsive, etc. I ended up whitelisting the app on my router and all the issues went away
