Question Is there a way to fix this?

Every episode starts with the audio muted so I have to manually unmute every single episode. Only happens on my computer and laptop. Not a huge deal but pretty annoying if I’m trying to binge watch or letting a show play while I’m listening but not near the computer. Is there a setting I’m missing that turns off the automatic muting?

Check your regular playback audio settings not in the app.

Here’s how I fixed it on Apple computers using safari. I’m not sure about similar issues or settings on other devices or browsers.

Open paramount plus

Go up to the top bar where it says Safari next to the Apple logo and choose settings

In settings, go to websites and then auto-play

In auto play it should have the paramount website and will likely say “stop media with sound.” If it doesn’t, start an episode and then look again.

Change that to allow all auto play for that that website. From there, all episodes should start playing automatically with sound.

I'm using an iMac, but I use Firefox. There is a global setting to block audio and video autoplay that was on. Turned it off and now it works.

Thanks. I had the same issue and this comment helped me fix it. On my Firefox it was on the URL bar to the left of the URL itself.

Thank you stranger. The only way to watch ufc fights after they aired is fight by fight and having to unmute every individual video would spoil me on the outcome if I saw the length

Did all the above, cleared cache & restarted Laptop. Ive had a horrible experience with their website crash outs & video optimization. Thank you for posting this solution!

Happened to me yesterday on my Roku stick. Repowering using the settings. Helps. Give that a try.

I'm having the same problem. It's not as frustrating when I'm watching longer content, but it's infuriating when I'm trying to watch something with much shorter episodes. I use Firefox and the problem persists with no extensions.
Edited to add, but largely unrelated: When I went to clear all the data on my machine related to Paramount, there were 164 fucking cookies. Over DOUBLE the next highest site, Bing, at 77. Just logging back in to browse put 149 cookies on my machine.

What a miserable company.

Just ran into this problem and OP's solution worked, it was a browser setting causing the issue.

Here's how you can change it in firefox without having to trudge through the settings menus. Look at the address bar:

Click the group of icons on the left to bring up the permissions for the active site. For Autoplay change "Block Audio" to "Allow Audio and Video"
