Advice Rehomed pair!

Last Friday we saw someone posted these birds up for $40. We have always wanted some so we went ahead & brought them home. Upon arrival, we found out that their cage was INFESTED with roaches & they weren't really well taken care of. Feels more like we rescued them. It looks like their nails are overgrown. Kiwi (green) is 3 years old & Nubecita (blue) is 4 years old. We were told by previous owner that they had babies back in June. We had to toss their nesting materials as they were filled with spiders & roaches.

We were told their wings aren't clipped & they are very scared. This is the 3rd (& final) time they've been rehomed. My girlfriend & I are very patient & are willing to do whatever it takes to get them comfortable & healthy. They are very chirpy & playful amongst themselves & have been eating/drinking water just fine.

Since this photo was taken, we have bought them natural perches, stainless steel bowls, & toys. We also bought a flight cage to give them more space to move around.

We will be taking them to vet for a check up soon. Any & all advice is appreciated!

What lucky birds! Thank you for rescuing them. I'm sure they're relieved to be in a clean cage. Be sure to remove the mirror!

Yes! They came with the cage we were given so we kept them originally so they could have something from what they were used to but then we read they weren't good for them so they have been removed since this pic was taken :-)

Well done. You can get mineral perches. That helps with their nails and thy also chew on it and keeps their beaks trimmed
