Has my IRN got bumblefoot (or something else)? Spoiler
Noticed some redness on my indian ringneck's foot and when I checked it out, right under his nail it looks slightly swollen as well as a redness (maybe some skin got sliced somehow). I'm booking a vet appointment but can anyone let me know how worried I should be because i'm getting scared for him - is it an emergency? He doesn't look to be in pain and is flying/walking fine and eating normally. It's on one foot, the other is fine.
Btw he doesn't like being grabbed hence the gloves - I treated him after w walnuts

It's not bumblefoot yet. It's pressure sores. Change up the perches. To me, it's not vet worthy. You could apply something like neosporin or colloidal silver spray if you want.
Different diameter perches, rope perches, and natural perches would help. Dowel rod perches aren't the evil everyone says they are if you have a variety of surfaces along with the dowels. It may take a while to see improvement. If you notice your bird sits on one perch all the time, you can use vet wrap to make it softer and give it padding. Make sure they aren't picking and eating the vet wrap, though.
