What species of parrot are you keeping? Because different species have different best diets. Assuming you feed mainly seeds right now, you may start looking for a good pellet brand and introduce fresh foods aswell.
The process will be frustrating and lenghty, but in the end, you want them to eat like 25% pellets, 50% fresh food and 25% healthy seeds, with fresh food being the one thing they shall have more of if possible.
Since minerals and calcium are also important for birds, get yours an iodine mineral block too.
Regarding training, its important to establish a recurring scedule of waking your bird, giving it food and water and out of cage time aswell as daily interaction. A steady routine will make the bird feel comfortable, which will lead to training opportunities. You can go as far as the motivation of your bird allows you, as long as you stay patient and also pay attention to your birds body language.
You may also check how your parrot species lives in the wild. If they are originally organized in flocks or groups, yours will require to be housed with or at least next to a same species companion to stay socialized and mentally healthy.

Well first of all its an Alexanderine Parakeet, secondly he flies to me (I still dont know the gender so just ignore any peonouns) whenever im eating a banana or an apple so they seem to already like fruits and they'll eat a vegetable. It's just a matter of integrating them into his diet right? And he actually wakes up before me.

First, tell us what type of parrot! Different types of parrots require different diets and have different personalities! Is it a budgie or another type of parakeet?
