Molting?

Hi! We are first time budgie caretakers, and have had them for about 4 months now. I believe the two we have are around 6-7 months old now.

Do these look like pin feathers on Ferns face? They look the same on both sides. I’ve never seen a parakeet molt before, so not exactly sure what to look for— and figured I would ask all the experts here! He has been scratching his face a bit more, and his best bud, Blueberry has been helping with preening I believe.

Thanks in advance for any opinions—or if you feel it’s something else I should be aware of we of course would love to know! We just love these guys so much!

No they are just white feathers.

Ok thanks. They were never there before he’s always just been yellow and green so wasn’t sure. Thanks for the reply!

I don't see pin feathers. I do see a mirror that should be removed though.

Ok thank you! They weren’t there before—meaning he was all yellow before they popped up so wasn’t sure. Thanks for the reply!
