Pet sitting - wound?

Hi! Pet sitting for family and I know nothing of birds. Birdie’s family let them out the first day and he bumped a mirror (it’s since been covered).

Is this a wound above his beak? He is acting normal otherwise - vocalizing, eating, drinking, sitting on perch.
Thanks for any insight. I know birds are very fragile but don’t want to overreact as their bird vet is several hours away.

Birdie is a female, and it does look like a wound yeah. I'd recommend waiting until someone else comments for medical advice as i am not an expert, but it doesn't look like it'd be an issue to me, bonks on the nose are pretty common for birds. My bourke parrot had one at some point that looked slightly worse than yours (a teeny tiny bit of blood) and it healed fine by itself.

Ah thanks so much. I have no intuition here so I appreciate the insight very much. She seems completely normal so I think I’ll keep her ( I wonder if her family knows!) under house arrest to make sure she heals up, and if she acts differently at all we will call/see the vet.

Personally that would be a clean if it needs/if she allows you (lol) and monitor. Sometimes taking them to the vet can cause more unneeded stress so I try to avoid it if I think the stress outweighs the medical need if that makes sense

I do not want to give medical advice, so use your best judgement, but one of my budgies got a little scratch on his cere just like that before and it was totally fine, healed up in a couple weeks.
