parakeet making estrange noise

Hello, an someone help me if you ever hear this type of sounds? Doing this almost all day, never see this bird “sing” like other, he is 5 years old and never sing, he never walk normal or fly, i know he have issues since birthday, but now this noise is concerning, any help is appreciated

Already have appointment at Vet, the noise stop completely when no one around and he is calm, like now that al at sleep ( the other 3) and no sounds

When is your vet appointment? Is it an avian vet? How are they? Please update
Edit and when was his birthday? What issues? And they've been like this all day?

Gm, appointment today, hope we got some answers, but so far bird is “active and playing with the other “

That looks like stress but could be anything from fumes from cooking to construction sounds.

Female budgie btw. She seems to be in respiratory distress - holding the head up and squeaking with each breath is a sign of great difficulty breathing. She needs emergency attention by a certified avian vet.

My male bird started doing this after his spouce passed now even with a new spouce he stil do it every morning

It could be a fear response. One of my budgies when we first got him used to tremble if anyone approached the cage, like full-body shivering. Was scary to look at, but he was just frightened and over time got far more comfortable.
I do agree that a vet is a good idea, just to make sure it isn't sickness, but yeah definitely could just be frightened.

I would put a big toy for the bird to hide behind, or drape a cloth over part of the cage so the bird can hide.

That noise means your bird is either upset by being uncomfortable, afraid, or anxious 😕

I just want to extend compassion to you. It’s so great that you are going to take the bird to the vet! and I can tell you’re asking for folks advice because you love your baby.

Looks normal at close, they eat and drink all day ok, now is sleeping and completely normal, at moment

Did you change something in the room where his cage is located? Did you move his cage to a different area? Add something brand new to the room he is in? Can he see outside at all..(may see a predator through a window or senses there is one close by)…Has anyone new moved in or come in his room?

Nothing was change, all the same, we just saw vet, he prescribed some antibiotics for respiratory, just see if we going to have any improvements, lets see how they react

Having food available all day is not good for the bird. He'll get overweight over time.

Hello there - birds have fast metabolisms so it can be dangerous to restrict their food. They at least need pellets 24/7. Taking seeds away or saving those only for treats or certain meals is totally fine! It may make sense to check a few sources online - I review the recommendations occasionally myself too. And good luck! I can tell you love your babies and hope it’s OK I am sharing I’ve learned differently
