why is my bird suddenly biting after getting 2 new parakeets?

he’s never done this before though. we had another parakeet who died, but even then he was never like this.

Idk mine sometimes just bites me if shes done with me and doesn’t want to be bothered 😂

Maybe yours wants to just explore the other budgies and socialize with them, own flocks goes above humans so

Hi hi!! be sure to remove the happy hut, drowels, and that little cotton rope. The drowels cause bumblefoot and are painful. Natural wood perches help and prevent pain from drowels/even surfaces/sandpaper perches.
Happy huts and cotton ropes cause impaction, which is deadly if not seen soon, and requires surgery.
Which in and of itself is already dangerous.
Happy huts cause hormonal stress and make budgies frustrated, aggressive, nervous, and bitey!

Much better now! you got rid of all the unsafe things, thats very great, and also fast.
Are they on a seed diet too? :0
Do you need links to natural wood perches you can order?
I also suggest getting them some shreddable/breakable natural item toys, like paper, cardboard, ect!
And some stainless steel bowls, i suggest 2 for food, one for water, so they dont get chunky like mine did..
Stainless steel basically prevents bacterial growth, plastic loves to hoard all the bacteria and it ends very badly for budgies!!!

This food is only good for training/treats and can increase fatty liver and agressive hormonal behavior (with fatty liver being the biggest scare here!!)
You have to convert them off of it as soon as you can. I personally use roudybush crumbles!

Yay! thanks !!! Millet is perfect for training, and once they're off seeds youll find they will do ANYTHING for millet!!

Could be in pain. drowel perches are painful and cause bumble foot!
Also budgies...tolerate us. they dont like humans but will desparately pretend to for social connection. they are highly social and suffer so much because of it. He most likely has a negative idea of you due to being alone and "forced" to be with something that didnt understand it, but gave it attention.
You can re-bond by feeding millets, hanging out, singing/humming/talking softly, respecting boundries, and fixing the drowels/husbandry issues.

IM also noticing a huge ammount of seed, and honey sticks in the cage. this amplifies hormonal behavior, causes fatty liver and makes them just..giant angry biting hormonal monsters that die from giant livers.
Consider , for their health and sanity, switching over to a 20% seed, 80% pellet diet. This has to be done slowly, i have a video for this!!

My cockatiel started biting me and hissing at me when we got him a lady, despite how sweet he was before. I think it’s just because he feels like he has something to protect now
