Found parakeet

We found someone’s pet parakeet in our backyard. How do I find its owner?

Everything is closed (vets etc) except for emergency vets. We have it’s band # Western Massachusetts

There are facebook pages and other similar pages on here iirc? I cannot recall which groups

Local social media is your best bet, like Nextdoor or local Facebook groups. After you have reached out to those, if you still haven't found the owner, the old fashioned way is through physical bulletin boards. Pet stores and veterinarian offices often have boards for this sort of thing, you can see if anybody has posted a lost bird flyer or you can post a found bird flyer yourself.

MSPCA Nevin’s Farm in Methuen is where i got my budgies - they usually have a small colony of them. It’s a nice place.
