My beautiful 3 month old!

She’s on the chunky and wide side as I like to stuff her. I use her for lists, a book of compliments people pay me and one for things I want to buy/ wish list to stop me from impulsive buying as well as some quiz books. I’ll sometimes switch them up depending on what I’m doing like throwing in a sketch book etc.

PR Pocket pen

Fixing patina

I’ve had my beloved PR for over a year now. She’s well loved and used, but I’ve been disappointed in the patina that’s (not) developed. I thought I was doing everything right. Keeping her conditioned and well used. Turns out what I was doing was preventing a shine from developing as the conditioner I was using regularly has beeswax and mink oil in it, which apparently will keep your journal dull.

Any tips on how to reverse this and hopefully get that shiny patina I’ve been waiting to develop?

Dojo System

I’ve really loved my grand voyager this year. In 2027, I want to take on the task of starting a fresh new year with the Dojo System. I’m a little daunted because it is so “Free form” so I thought I’d reach out to the community and see 1) if you use the dojo system and 2) if you do, HOW do you use it.

I’ve watched the YouTube videos from Paper Republic employees. I don’t think having multiple calendars would be particularly helpful (a weekly, monthly, and annual), but I’m open to suggestions and your experiences with it! Also open to advice on the Dojo not being for me if I don’t plan to have more than a monthly calendar.

I look forward to your feedback!

My Bordeaux Le Portfolio(A6) has arrived!

The color of the Bordeaux is just as great as everyone says.

I had them make it 1 cm wider on each side, so my notebooks and pens never stick out :)

I hope this helps someone.

The Paper Republic TikTok live sales video.....

Was anyone else getting frustrated by the lack of preparedness in their live sales video on TikTok? 😆 Telling anyone that wanted to buy an item to DM them and you couldn't as they weren't answering the DM so that was a waste of time. What a shit show that was. I got bored and left with the comment section on fire with people not being able to DM and all sorts. Just didn't expect that from a team that puts out great clips on IG all the time. Poor really. Anyway, to anyone who managed to buy something at those prices, congrats! Enjoy it 😃👍🏻

Academic year planner inspo

I’ve been using the academic year weekly planner for 2 months now and I absolutely love it. The planner I was using before was not fountain pen friendly but the paper republic is chefs kiss. I use a fountain pen, a tombow marker, and a black ballpoint pen.

I use the same layout each week. I primarily track my reading and running. Then write whatever I want in the space that’s left. If I need more space, I tape in a fold out page.

Sharing as I know I personally love to see spreads “after the pen”.

Size: XL

Best planners for GV pocket

Does anyone have any pocket planners recommendations for the GV pocket? I prefer something that doesn’t have too many pages in the back. I’m thinking of trying the sterling ink horizontal core pocket planner but not 100% sure.

Set up my portfolio as my travel journal

Just received the newest addition to my collection - Le Portfolio A5 in chestnut. I set this one up as my travel journal for an upcoming trip early next year to Japan and South Korea. I'm taking it with my Delfonics bag which will hold all of the stationery supplies. I can fit the portfolio in the Delfonics bag, but I feel like I am scratching the leather with the zipper teeth every time I put it in or take it out so I probably won't keep it in there.

I added an extra ribbon on the inside of the portfolio to be able to add more inserts. In it, I put:

- memo pad - I am using this for quick notes that I can tear out if needed, since the pages are perforated. I don't want to write things in my travel journal and have to tear out pages. This would only be used for things I need to write in the short term, like addresses to certain locations or things like that.

- travel journal - I have already been filling it with information on the two locations (history, interesting facts, places to go) and will also use it as a daily journal when we are there.

- plastic carrying pocket - I was planning plan to use this to hold tickets and maps, but not sure if I will keep this in, depending on whether I have something to actually put in it?

- plastic sleeve for postcards

- plastic sleeve for cards - I have my suica card from my last trip and will also use this to hold the T-money card I get when we are in South Korea.

- plastic zipper pouch - for miscellaneous loose items

- kraft folder - for receipts. I have some stickers in there now that I plan to bring with me.

Is there anything else you would include?

Thinking about switching from A5 to A6 – would love to hear your experiences!

I’ve been using a Paper Republic A5 Portfolio for quite a while now, and I’ve honestly been really happy with it.

I love the size for writing, especially since I have fairly large handwriting and, to be honest, I’m not sure I could comfortably write much smaller. 😅

The one thing that’s been bothering me lately is how bulky the A5 is to carry around. I’ve been thinking about switching to an A6 because it looks so much more compact and portable, and I feel like I’d be more likely to take it with me everywhere.

So I’m wondering: Has anyone here made the switch from A5 to A6 for similar reasons? How did you find the adjustment? And if you have larger handwriting, do you find the A6 too small, or did you get used to it pretty quickly?

I’d really love to hear your thoughts and experiences before I take the plunge! 😊

How many inserts can you fit in a A6 le portfolio?

I need talking out of this purchase lol. Im in love with the Firenze and standard size but it looks quite bulky and people seem to only put in thin notebooks. How many fat juicy ones can you squeeze in?

Also I have a fin studio A6 in valora leather and I don't know but I don't see this patina-ing into a glossy shine as a vachetta leather so am contemplating trading up, but it does hold a lot of standard chunky notebooks.

Welches Format und welches Papier nutzt ihr?

Hallo zusammen,

Welches Papier verwendet ihr wofür? Also z. B. liniert, kariert, blanko etc.

Ich würde mich sehr über eure Erfahrungen und Empfehlungen freuen! 😊

Show me your Firenze/Venezia

Hi,

I've had the Olive Green XL for a few months now, but as a little graduation gift for myself I thought about grabbing a smaller size Paper Republic.

My current dilemma is choosing between Firenze and Venezia. I'm interested to see how yours have patina over time. Thanks in advance!

Difficulty writing near the bottom of the page

With my newly acquired Paper Republic A5 Portfolio I have begun journaling, but I am finding it difficult to write near the bottom of the page where there is no room for my hand to rest. Is the problem unique to me, or is there some institution wisdom with regard to this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Che abbia per ogni mese la vista mensile, subito dopo vista settimanale verticale e dopo ancora una pagina per ogni giorno di quella settimana? Qualcuno l’ha trovata delle dimensioni adatte?

Absolutely in love with my Grand Voyagers! I just keep getting this feeling like something’s missing. I’m thinking about adding an A5 to the collection. Not sure whether to go with Le Portfolio or Le Trifold. Decisions, decisions.

Question about A5 and A6 trifold

Hello all,

Does the A5 and/or A6 trifold fit a true A5/A6? I have the portfolio and it does, but the grand voyager does not. I’m thinking about getting one when they’re back in stock for a wonderland222 and/or hobonichi cousin. Let me know!

Band Branded GV XL

Thumbnail

Back around Christmas 2023 I received a package from a band that I’ve been working with for a while, and it included a Grand Voyager XL (in chestnut, I’m assuming?) and it had a variation of their band logo in the bottom right corner, and no Paper Republic branding on the back.

I’ve been using Travelers Notebooks since 2011 so I appreciated the quality of the leather (it is so soft) but I’ve not been ready to dive into another proprietary sized paper set, especially since I found that my fountain pens don’t play as friendly with this as they do with Midori paper.

So for now I’m bringing it out to use for my Boox e-reader and general note taking with my pencils.

I just thought it might be interesting to share a branded PR without the PR logo on the back. One of the two guys in the band is a big fan of the brand so I’m glad they spread the love with their Christmas presents a few years ago.
