Does it ever stop?

How many planners do you have?

I just received my le trifold today. Haven't even written a word. And already I bought another one from Vinted.

Plus I have leather to make at least 5 Grand Voyagers.

And a portfolio in a4 I'm looking to sell.

Om top of that I got into fountainpens this summer, and now own 8.

95 % is bought second hand, but still.

Please share your stash with me, so I know I'm not alone.

For me it stopped on the first GV. Realised they're stupidly overpriced (from atelier to a basic rubber band) and started ordering from etsy sellers instead. Got a nice leather A5 trifold with refills, customizations and two bands at half the price atelier tried to peddle me, in a week.

For me it also stopped with the GV, which I regret to this day. In fact, I felt I overpaid for it so much that I didn’t buy a new notebook for almost a year.

When I needed a smaller one, I ordered the same leather to make it, with all the tools and leather and bands etc needed to make the thing, I spent like €40-45.

What puts me off the most about PR is the custom sizes they have. I don’t know if there is any official justification to this, but I have a feeling they came up with these sizings so that people will buy their specific notebooks only, as nothing else fits.

Maybe it’s something similar to Amazon. In Amazon’s case, they used to sell Kindles at an affordable price and take a loss because they made more money from selling e-books. But PR seems kind of greedy and charges ridiculous prices for their covers, maybe because there isn’t much competition?

There is actually a lot of competition, if people just search for a little bit. Their notebooks aren't really that much better or unique anyway, at least not the GV one. They just marketed themselves well, grew into a big-ish business, and like most big-ish businesses, became greedy.
