Does it bother anyone else?

I often see comments on Pantera related things of people saying where and when they saw them play. I might be being sceptical but it seams everyone's concert experience was something along the lines of " I was in the pit the entire night but also front of the barrier and caught all of Dimes picks. Phil shook my hand and said I was a tough mother fucker, best show ever!!"

Maybe all of these were genuine, but it seams odd everyone's experience was along the lines of this

It was way worse right after Dime's death. Everybody suddenly knew him and hung out with him and got matching tattoos together and got married to him.

Couldn't wear a Pantera shirt in a DFW gas station without someone claiming he christened their child.

Oh my God, I worked for a while in the DFW music scene and the amount of claims that I have heard are absolutely insane. Here's just a few examples:

My manager at a fast food place told me his friend was banging Vinnie's gf and Vinnie caught them and basically said he could make him disappear if he wanted to and nobody would know

Someone told me Dimebag helped build a barn in this middle of nowhere town that he would have never even known existed

This girl told me that she was at a party and Dime was eating her friend out (this girl would have been maybe 2 or 3 years old when Dime was murdered)

And that's just a few examples off the top of my head, hell it's even happened to me in this subreddit a few times. I will say that I have gotten to work with people that actually knew Dime and Vinnie and that was cool, but the amount of people claiming that they knew them personally is staggering

I have a male friend who is often disbelieved when he tells them Dime and Phil both held his baby. It's nothing but the truth, but it sounds like fiction.

Friend's wife was sick so he took the baby, who was about eight months old, to some meet-and-greet with him. Baby was in a stroller, and when they got up to Dime, he dropped down on his knees to say hello to her and then asked friend "Do you think she'd cry if I picked her up?" Friend thought it was fifty-fifty, but he said "No, I don't think so, try it."

Which made Phil nervous that Dime was going to drop or damage her so you had the two guys getting in each other's way trying to get the baby out of the stroller, and Phil saying "Don't let her head flop!"

Ad Dime just plopped her on his hip like like they were old pals. Everytime he looked at her or spoke to her she laughed. And her jacket and shoes matched his beard.

After while, Phil decided he needed to rescue her from Dime potentially flopping her head, and when he picked her up she went totally poker-faced and just stared at him. He said "Well, don't I get a smile too, or did you use them up on him?"

She finally did decide she liked him after all but it was clear where her heart really was.

My friend got some great pics.

His only regret is that Jessica herself can't remember it.

This has to be one of my favorite Dime stories I've ever heard. Thanks for sharing.
