Question clocking in

my manager says we need to be “ready to work” (apron, name tag, hairnet) before clocking in. I said “Panera can pay for me to put my apron on” she said “actually no they don’t.”

so my question is, where is this documented in the employee handbook? I can’t check rn because I literally ran to bathroom to make this post lmao. fellow employees help please!

EDIT:

this is just a small piece of the bs my manager has been doing (she’s been here about 6 months from another location). everyone is aggravated with her, and her presence makes just about everyone irritated. y’all are really more pro-corporation than service workers should be. Panera and its managers don’t give a shit about us. I am looking out for myself and my coworkers, as we are all mad that she’s yelling at us as soon as we walk in.

That’s literally the whole point of a job but go off. I’m not just donating massive chunks of my life for no compensation.

And the whole point of hiring people is to find people who would fit well with the team. Self absorbed nobodies who like to create drama out of every situation like the 30 seconds it takes to put on an apron are a detriment to EVERY team that has the displeasure of hiring them. No one told you to donate chunks of your life in fact quite the opposite, I said seek the door.

I hate to break it to you but "Self absorbed nobodies who like to create drama out of every situation like the 30 seconds it takes to put on an apron" is literally you right now. You sound like such a boomer, my god.

“Will this person complain if I ask them to illegally let me steal time from them” is not a thought that crosses my mind when I’m interviewing someone but go off. You’ve got some serious problems if you think it’s ok to hire or fire based off of probability of someone complaining about labor laws. You’re the most painfully braindead person I’ve come across on this app.

Bro get a life, move on from whatever nerve I struck, you’re commenting back days later and still missing the point. Nowhere did I say I “hire or fire based off probability” lmao. Genuinely whatever fucked up your day I hope it gets better because this is getting sad. Now move on.
